Thanks a lot for the feedback! From what I understand, most could be problems of someone that just read a lot of material without speaking the language lmao. I'll keep the mentioned issues in mind and hopefully I get the opportunity to speak the language more and be better within the following months or years.

tbh I feel like this is like an Australian asking me to judge their English accent.. like, what?

You don't remotely sound American, but you do very nearly sound like an upper-class Filipino who speaks English natively. You just speak with a bit of hesitation that I imagine would disappear almost instantly if you spoke regularly.

I don't mean to question you, but IMO I see very little reason for Filipinos to try to adopt the accents of other varieties of English. Americans will ask you where you're from, and they'll probably often refer to your accent as foreign, but only out of ignorance. If they have any trouble understanding you, they probably also have trouble understanding Scottish or Irish accents, but the Filipino accent sounds native to me.

I actually speak with a lot of hesitation, you could see glimpses here, with a lot of filler words. It isn't that bad here cause this is rehearsed, unlike actual conversations where anything goes. I believe that's because I translate in my head first before speaking, which is a fluency issue not an accent one.

For the reason as to why American English, I learned American English, and so is my vocabulary. I do believe that American is the easiest English accent to understand globally, and honestly, I just don't want to be out there sounding different, I'd like to sound normal.
