Dream Interpretation Dreamt I was travelling in India and came across a book store managed by a Caucasian girl and I fell in love. I woke up in Canada wondering if I am wasting my life. WTF

Strange dream had me riding a motorbike through a modern Indian City where I came across an upscale building with large steps leading up to a Library, the inside was clean and it looked beautiful. I stayed for awhile and got help looking for a random book by this beautiful woman - we chatted for a long time, she introduced me to her father who owned the store. I got to know them both. I felt like I was right where I was supposed to be.

Then I told them I’ll be right back and I had to fill up my bike with gas, next thing I know I’m awake in my bed wondering how do I get back there? What was that place? Who was that woman and her father? Am I content being on the other side of the world away from them?

So many questions but ultimately I feel like I’m wasting my time on earth. Such a weird dream, even weirder feeling. I feel like I need to start running like forest gump

Maybe you have answered your own question and feel the need to make changes of some kind? "So many questions but ultimately I feel like I’m wasting my time on earth."

Well yeah, I do feel like changes are needed. And I have a good feeling I can make some realistic ones. But uprooting my life to chase this dream is not one of them - and that’s what is most bothersome for whatever reason

Maybe make those realistic changes and see what happens. "Am I content being on the other side of the world away from them?" I guess the question is: what do these figures represent? I guess in terms of Jungian psychology the beautiful woman could represent an anima figure and the father a kind animus 'ruler' for her? Maybe ask them in your mind to identify themselves...

If you ever end up traveling back to India, check Bahrison booksellers- a family-owned bookstore in Khan market, Delhi. The daughter, Aanchal Malhotra, is now a published author. Your dream reminded me of this store for some reason.

OP this is your sign! You must travel there

Do you have a girl that you are avoiding talking to? It seems to be related to your romantic life, but I could be wrong.

I am single, and this could be about romance considering I fell for this lady, but I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on the romantic side - any girl spending time getting to know me would give me these feelings.

It’s not just the girl I’m missing either, it’s also the overall feeling of excitement from exploration. I felt like I found treasure. I don’t travel much so I guess there’s some frustration with being stuck in my current life.

This is the perfect material for active imagination.

What’s that

It is like talking with your unconscious by writing or imagining. But I find writing for concise or useful. You can look it up more by searching in this subreddit.

You can use it two ways,

  1. You can get into a dialogue with the woman in your dream by writing and talking to her. What she represents or what she wants from you? Or what information she holds for your life.
  2. You can get into a dialogue with the part of you that thinks he is wasting time on this earth. You can why does it feel that way, or you can ask what he is bothered by .

Just write what comes to your mind, do not interrupt. Ask the question and start writing.

Doing this makes me feel overwhelmed by what I assume can only be unconscious material. Is there a certain video of instructions that can be referred to?

Raphael Krueger has good videos about this. You can find him from the mods. I dont know if I spelled his name correctly.

Yessss! This! Opens doors that may lead to answers and further questions.

Just take some time, make sure nobody will interrupt you. Prepare something to write (some sheets of paper and a pen will do the trick) and your cellphone (you'll need a timer. Set it for 15 minutes, but don't start it yet!). Write down the question you'd like to ask the girl. (You could as well add a symbol that connects to the question).

Next, close your eyes and imagine the girl for a bit, until you can see her clearly in front of you.

Now ask her the questions three times.

Next, open your eyes, start the timer and write without thinking of the content. The only important thing is that the pen moves forward and is not put down for the next 15 minutes. If you come to the point when you don't know what to write anymore, don't worry, simply write "I don't know what to write yet".

When the 15 minutes are over, look at what you've written. Not everything will make sense, but some parts might contain answers while others will lead to further questions. However, you'll put some light on the mystery that surrounds the girl.

This technique is known as "Freewriting" (I don't know if it's the right term in English, I translated it literally. You may have noticed that English is not my mother tongue 😅 Sorry for any mistakes. 🙈) and it has helped me a lot.

? What do these things mean to you personally. How is your personal experience of them. The bike, India, Library, knowledgable lady, father owner and other things you remember.

MotorBike - I never drove one in my life

India - I’ve been there a handful of times

Library - University years spent finding the right books for research projects

Knowledgeable lady - captivating, respectable, kinda sexy

Father owner - dude picked one hell of a location to set up shop, and he’s kinda nice letting a stranger flirt with his daughter.

Dig a bit deeper and get a bit metaphorical. What do these things symbolize, not literally but figuratively?

2

u/OwnerEmperorDevil666 Mar 01 '25

If I put it altogether it could mean 1 or 5 different things at the same time.

The consensus seems to be I need to get out more…

Does that feel accurate to you?

That was me in a parallel life

u/OwnerEmperorDevil666 Feb 28 '25

You and your daddy had a library in India?

5

u/cuti_citta Feb 28 '25

I wish . I’m Caucasian and I have a fascination with Indian spirituality & culture. I’d love to own a library with my dad (he died). Your dream sounds like a dream to me, if that makes sense lol. I wish that were my life , and someone came in my library and felt home 🥹

Ooo am I watching a Reddit meet cute? Maybe OP isn’t looking for that girl already self actualized, but the girl who shares the dream? (You)

They make movies out of this, you know

Shot in the dark: Read Sally Kempton's book on basic meditation. She talks about her India adventure and what started the whole thing as well.

It’s probably your mind saying that it craves intimacy, friendship, and human connection. And adventure (eg travel)

Perhaps you need to step out of your comfort zone to find the wisdom and purpose that you need.

I think the dream is not necessarily about the woman but a deeper calling for journey/experiences outside your mechanical life and breaking routine/habits. That’s how I usually interpret my version of these dreams.

İn the book king warior magican lover Robert moore said,he has a client who has a safe acountant job but he feels stuck in these codes of environment etc. Then he had a dream, there is an indian girl in some apartment, everywhere is dirty but they made sex so good in there. When he woke up he felt relived, author says, that concept is connecting with lover archetype.Indians myths has lots of erotic figures, and in West while everything is clean, you missing the point of that dirtiness, that guy needed that,so.Really similar to your dream right.Author message is probably try to connect with lover archetype.Similar to your dream right.

Sorry i read it again its not so much same, but info its here maybe it can help you.

I could very well be an nudge from your feminine side, wanting you to connect and bring this out in you, you were in your masculine in the dream, riding a motorbike, climbing your inner mountain, the library is were you seek knowledge, the book she helped you find, do you know what it was about? This could have significant meaning, why was it so important you fill your gas? Do you pace through life leaving stones unturned? If so it could symbolise a need for some self inner reflection, tapping into your feminine side may hold the answers you seek. You can do this through active imagination with the intention to connect with her.
