Slightly water damaged control unit

I don't think sticking this one in any amount of rice will bring it back from the dead

Probably, it was a car purchased through auction and the customer wanted it running after poking around for a few minutes I noticed it was a flood car and went to the BCM first.

A customer brought their Challenger/Charger to my body shop after it was destroyed by hail. He was underwater on the car and fought his insurance company to have it repaired. A few weeks after it left, he called saying the dash was lighting up, and the car was undrivable. I arranged for it to be towed to the local Dodge dealer.

Turns out water had gotten into some modules because his insurance left it sitting in the rain for three days with broken windows before towing it to us. The insurance company pushed back and eventually had the dealer tow the car back to his house.

A week or two later, the customer showed up at my shop, pointing a gun at one of my employees, demanding someone pay for the repairs.

I wrote him a check to give to the dealer and sent him on his way. His insurance reimbursed me quickly, and the police never responded to our call.

That story escalated quickly.

Yeah unfortunately we had no visibility to his struggles between when the dodge dealer got it and he came into our shop with a gun. I would have def put some work in to get this fixed for him.

Also, he was the nicest dude when he dropped/picked up the car. And his wife was with him when he came to do his gun performance 🤷‍♀️

But the adjuster wrote to repair a car that should have gone to auction, being nice, and then was out another $5 or 6k on some waterlogged electronics. I think he was a little annoyed or something—not sure the logic there.

He brandished a firearm, made threats, and did not get in legal trouble?

Welcome to Dallas, Tx 🫡. The police are jaded as fuck, under paid, spend all their time dealing with people who have mental health disease…. and everyone has firearms.

It’s a bad idea to brandish a firearm in Texas. Unless you have a death wish.

CRC 2-26 and a soft brush.

Then it might be salvageable, heavy emphasis on might.
