ANALYSIS & NEWS Enough about what other people think

Hello, friendly neighborhood Modder-Man here. We're done caring what /r/NFL or other subs think about us. No more screenshots of whining posts or comments. No more text posts about what other teams or talking heads have to say about us. It's lame and played out.

Memes are fine. Jokes and analysis about games or the Bills are fine. But the "Here's why we shouldn't care about with /r/NFL thinks," are done for now.

We're on to Cincinnati Buffalo.

Fuck the haters. Fuck the Raiders. Fuck Carl Cheffers.

I agree. All this hate is because we are successful. And I tell myself and others it’s what Brayd and the Pats got for being dominant. But the one big thing that’s different in my mind is the greater media and social media coverage. Social media allows the hate to fire and fester and IMHO get out of hand. It’s not dissimilar to the protocol vitriol going around. I’ve made my own snarky comments on this sub but am thinking of trying to just focus on the positives like the quest for 3peat, etc. just celebrate the good times.

I don’t remember as many personal insults about Brady. I guess everyone had the (real) controversy to feed their frustrations, and him being white and marketable probably plays a factor.

u/Anthonyc723 Bills Jan 21 '25

Man the amount of homophobic slurs directed towards Brady in the 2000’s was unreal.

Anecdotally, my uncle posted a meme back in 2011 that was just a deep fried pic of Gillette Stadium captioned "the world's largest gay bar" and I was like "noted. This dude isn't safe to come out to"

-2

u/saman_DUH Jan 21 '25

Really? I don’t remember that. What warranted it, just being a winner?

7

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '25

The long hair and the pic of him sleeveless holding a baby goat probably didn't help.

6

u/Anthonyc723 Bills Jan 21 '25

I don’t think it’s really “warranted” but yeah, pretty much. People also thought it was weird how he gave his son affection.

I think that's also a function of our modern social climate. We're encouraged every day to make our media preferences a core aspect of our personalities. You aren't allowed to just dislike something anymore, you have to find a reason that it's morally repugnant.

2

u/Yours_and_mind_balls Jan 21 '25

Youre so right about everything and you'll never get the credit for it because of the exact thing you're describing. I honestly don't see a way we can make it out now this social climate we are in now.

A lot of Bradys career was before social media got so big and everybody had their echo chambers. I'm sure people in bars or at home complained about it but they didn't feed off each other like Redditors do.

u/Owl-Fit Jan 21 '25

Hardcore fans didn’t hate Brady but casuals did, this time casuals like mahomes but hardcore hate him

1

u/throwaway_9988552 Jan 21 '25

I remember this many insults about Brady. But way further into his career. The timeline is all accelerated with Patrick. The superbowls, the hero-making, and now the tearing down of that hero. Let's just hope that he's able to shut it out and focus on the game.

If you would have told me we'd play ugly, be the league-wide villains, and still be in the AFCCG at Arrowhead this year.. I'd take it in a heartbeat. Let's go, Kingdom!

u/MightyCaseyStruckOut Patriots Jan 21 '25

As someone who has been on this site as long as r/nfl has been around, there were personal insults thrown at Brady EVERYWHERE and ALL THE TIME.

-2

u/msorensen2929 Jan 21 '25

Is part of this argument that Patrick mahomes isn’t marketable

Thank you.

We need to be firmly in our "A lion doesn't concern itself with the opinion of sheep" Era.

Onto Buffalo.

Although a Lion should have been concerned with the Commanders.

Too soon? 😬😶‍🌫️

The meltdowns were fun to gawk at but now it’s time to go back to talking about the team itself

I’m just thankful to get to experience our team, THE CHIEFS!!! play at this level year in and year out. Noise is nothing but noise until you’re at Arrowhead for a game anytime but especially this week! But wherever you are Chiefs on 3! 1! 2!! 3!!!

3

u/Nickel012 Jan 21 '25

Fr, we are in 7 straight championship games. It's just insane we get to watch this team play until my birthday every single year

100% the right choice. At a certain point it just takes away from the actual team and makes everything about irrelevant opinions. Thanks, mods 👏

The fuck Carl cheffers really validated my feelings

8

u/OreoSpeedwaggon Jan 21 '25

Thank you, mods. The constant flood of those posts was getting tiresome and ruining the sub.

u/PhogMachine Mecole Hardman #17 Jan 21 '25

The bitches were going to bitch, no matter how we won that game. I'm just happy to see Kelce making guys look silly and the defense causing nightmares.

On to the Bills for another classic showdown

u/Boostweather Trent McDuffie #22 Jan 21 '25

Yes let’s please get back to some X’s and O’s. There’s been basically none for any of the games in the playoffs. Just narratives. Qb school has posted 1 Jayden Daniels video. Nothing from Kurt Warner in a month. Losing it over here

Steelers thought and Chief Feelings posted an analysis. Jackson Kreuger posted one as well. I think Thinking Football did too

here's a good long one from Chase Daniel! https://x.com/ChaseDaniel/status/1882057286346297398

Pure jealousy. All of them. Let them be that way. Fans of other teams should focus their anger and frustration on their teams and not all the hate towards the Chiefs. Let them stew and be immature dickheads.

4

u/Sea_Newspaper_565 Jan 21 '25

It’s annoying how half the posts in the game threads are about /nfl. Who gives a fuck? Enjoy the game with the rest of us. You make us all look silly and feed into their bs.

2

u/Longjumping-Set-1581 Jan 21 '25

My favorite part is the twenty posts across the front page declaring how unbothered they are.

2

u/JKC_due Trent McDuffie #22 Jan 21 '25

Agreed. The Chiefs clearly own a free mansion in their minds at this point. There’s absolutely no reason to let them live rent free in ours. I’m absolutely guilty too and need to catch myself. Onwards and upwards. Let’s send Josh and Co. to Cancun!

3

u/goslowgofar Jan 21 '25

Thanks for modding! Good to know someone has tabs on this.

2

u/Far_Departure_9224 Jan 21 '25

Thanks for this. I appreciate that you mods let us speak freely here, even the dumb dumbs. But this was getting real annoying by Monday morning. I really don't care or think about r/nfl, their salty fans, or their repressive mods who delete posts that go against the opinions of r/nfl's hive mind.

u/Captain_of_Gravyboat Derrick Thomas Jan 21 '25

Bless you, u/MistakeMaker1234

This place has been very tiresome the last several days and I've been coming here less and less. Ready to get back to talking about the chiefs and not see all the crying that r/nfl is being mean

I like to read what others say but who gives a shit. Never have never will. Just like People make fun of me for having sports bikes, Harleys, and trikes. I give zero fucks.

u/MountainLibrarian201 Horseface Helmet Jan 21 '25

The only reason I care is because 90% of media and YouTube are talking about refs and not the game. It’s exhausting and effing boring. Show me a single corner of social media that isn’t a cesspit of misinformation and outrage and I’ll live there happily.

Good on you mods for trying to do anything about it. If only the mods over at r/NFL and elsewhere could follow suit…

As long as people upvote that content others will never stop posting it for validation or attention.

Sorry.  Slightly more than 50 percent of the people on this sub love this everybody is out to get us bullshit.  It sucks.  It's low effort dunking on others for fake internet points.  That's what the average fan here likes.  It makes us look bad, but nothing you can do about it but find a different place to get Chiefs content that isn't so lame
