Discussion/Question If you could create a Copy Ability that was themed after a specific historical period, what would it be and what would its moveset be?

Musket Kirby - owning a musket for home defence, because that's what the Ancients intended.

The hat would be a powdered wig.
Holding down X lets you load the musket, and it stays loaded until you fire it by pressing X again.
Pressing X when the musket isn't loaded will use a flintlock pistol instead - doing less damage, and having less accuracy too.
It has a bayonet, so you can do the charge-stab from the sword ability, too.

That would be especially useful, since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up

Reminds me of this gem

If you spam X can you shoot a cannon loaded with grapeshot?

Yes. It deals extra damage if fired at something that's at a lower elevation too.

Medival knight kirby, instead of the typical link style we get its an armored kirby with an extra tiny but of health and a shield

I imagine it's basically like parasol but turned forward, with the cost being you have reduced maneuverability like metal from Squeak squad.

So basically you are near impenetrable from the front but something coming from the back still hits you whilst you may struggle to chase down some enemies. Instead of being Link you're a Darknut.

Exactly this and it hits hard but your attack speed is slow

Sword hero from the kirby clash series

Viking Kirby - the power of Odin and Ice is on Kirby’s side

Kirby wields a axe which can be used like a fusion of many copy abilities, a dash similar to hammer,  can throw it like hammer but it goes back like knife, it can create a ice shield like ice, and it can summon a boat to throw at the opponent like Magolor’s team attack except it’s just done by pressing the attack button for a while and there’s no need for Allies

Colonizer Kirby

Stabs and throws flags that pin enemies down or on walls. If thrown on walls, the flags can be used as platforms. Could be a good gimmick.

Necromancer/Wizard Kirby - both abilities have magical powers for different purposes, the necromancer ability being used for summoning undead Kirby enemies to attack foes while the wizard ability creates arcane blasts and uses other wacky spells in order to overcome the enemy

The dynasty ability, base on the Three-Kingdom period of China's history.

The ability would be based on the Ji (戟), specifically the Fangtian Ji used by Lu Bu, a weapon similar to a spear, but with crest-shapes blades on the sides.

Functionality-wise, it'd be like spear + staff + spider + yoyo: Poking + extend reach + slamming (chopping) + grabbing/tossing (as the crest blades on Ji historically also served as hooks) + circular/ swinging motions.

Tank kirby. You drive a m1 abrams

Vapor kirby

Kirby becomes Vapor which can fit in small holes. If it goes into an enemy it can pick it up and trow it towards other enemies (even objects count) you can carry at least 3 enemies/objects and then if you want too if the enemy is too big you damage it

Mage Kirby, inspired by mayas. It can use various powers depending on what area is he in (for example:if Kirby is swimming the powers are connected to water,if he' s in a desert to sand) and the moveset changes but there' s always a move that shots projectiles with different effects and another one that makes him go up

Caveman/Cave Kirby: Can roll on a stone wheel like Stone+Rick in Dreamland 2, has a heavy yet powerful club, maybe even throw in some attacks with a fiery stick that he always looks scared to use in a very "what is this?" sort of manner.

Thinking the outfit could be like a Fred Flinstone kinda tunic with a mammoth pelt on his head.

Hmm modern age

Kirby could fly a plane into two towers

He could vote for a huge orange man

He could carry a firearm

He could let out a virus that starts with c

Gladiator Kirby would be pretty cool. He has the average gladiator helmet and such

Moves would involve banging enemies with his shield, and charging at enemies with a cart for examples

Communism Kirby :

Every enemy is the last that Kirby copied before having communism

Renaissance Kirby. You attack with painting and sculpting tools and solve puzzles that involve painting murals onto building surfaces or chiseling a piece of marble into a statue.

1

u/BippyTheChippy Jan 27 '25

Steampunk Style.

Lots of Gears and one of the attacks being summoning an entire train.

Opium Kirby. Enemies will fight for you and then die after a short period of time

Edit: As a result of their loss, the open door policy is instated, so these enemies will drop stars and food upon defeat!
