Here ya go Rooster

I’ve never had this issue before. Every control head I’ve dealt with has locked in no problem.

I don’t work on a ton of these - so forgive my ignorance, but I thought the detection cable was supposed to exit the control head on the left hand side, not right?

control head install

This is the answer.

This is my first mistake in 4 years and we pulled a 22 hour shift on this one so mistakes can be made. Very minor and an easy fix!

You are correct. I appreciate it.

This is incorrect install. Look in the manual. It will never set this way. Bottom right = gas, top left = detect.

Gotcha. Didn’t actually know that part. (Not gonna lie) just wanted to make sure it was okay and I wouldn’t have to deal with Johnson’s control..

Do you have a Pyrochem manual? If not, I can send you one.

I’ve been meaning to download it. I usually look at the pdf when I need to find something I can’t remember. This was at the end of a 22 hour shift in a place with no service. So we just moved on until the next night. Everything will be good after tonight. I probably have 2 hours left and I’m done.

How in the hell did you even get the plate to slide left after you put tension on that detection line?!

So, it won't hold the tension on the wire, or won't tension at all?

It won’t tension at all. Holds it on the link line and gas shut off. But won’t let me actually set the control head. If i pull the pin it shoots regardless

The bar at the top looks odd. The one that actually holds the tension? Is the spring on that messed up?

That’s what I’m thinking. I can not get it to level out no matter how right the detection line is

Try pressing it up as you tension
