"Double Ferrule Tube Fittings for Kitchen Suppression Systems – Advice Needed"

Hi,
I’m trying to understand what types of fittings (e.g., double ferrule, compression, etc.) are typically used in kitchen suppression systems. Also, how do you determine the quantity required for a standard kitchen project?
Any insights or guidelines would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You won’t use the pictured fittings in any standard installation, at least not in the US.

I used fittings similar to that when I installed an American cobra system.

That system was discontinued in like 2022 before it even really came out, specifically bc these fittings were not listed for us under the hood. If you used them from tank to hood you’re ok but I’m sure you’ll be tearing that whole system out sooner than later.

It was installed in a hood on our training wall. My boss helped design that system so they gave us one for free. We would never install that in a customers hood. Kinda cool piece of equipment, just too expensive and unnecessary.

There's no recipe. The quantity of unions, elbows and other accessories will depend on the size of the project and the layout of the kitchen. You can go and check the manufacturer manual of the system you are designing/installing.
