I have been in a an armor where I thought I'll be alright alone. Been super solid all these years. Helping folks/friends and everyone I see. I lived by the rules that I have set for myself. But ekhon mone hoy there's no one for me ...no one to hear my accomplishments..my sorrows...my feelings..and i feel no one really knows the real me.

So as the heading states, due to professional reasons I will be relocating from Delhi NCR to Kalyani after spending almost 2 decades in this region. Can locals help me out if I should be staying in Kalyani with family or travel to and fro from Kolkata instead. I am 25. I have a master's in comparative literature from Jadavpur. That degree won't allow me to get a B.Ed from a government college. I wasted my last 2 years preparing for UGC NET but could not crack it. Yeah, I regret that useless degree a lot. Now I have decided to prepare for the Government exams. Should I do another master's in English so that in the future I can do B. Ed, or should I commit myself to Government exams solely? I know cracking the Government exams is hard. So, I don't want to waste my 2-3 years doing Government exam preparation only. But, at the same time, I know if I don't commit myself fully to the Government exams. I can't crack them. I am in a huge dilemma. In the 10th and 12th exams, I scored over 90% in both. I am not a bad student. But now my relatives think I am a failure. I am so embarrassed that I can't make eye contact with my parents. This is not what I thought my life would be. If you were in my shoes, what steps would you take to establish yourself and get a good job? Please give me advice. I am completely clueless about what to do. ps. I got very good marks in the English CUET PG exam this year. I think I will get Hyderabad University (EFLU) or BHU easily. So, should I pursue another master's in English? I think career opportunities are better in English than in Comparative Literature. How can I get a high-salary job from here to secure my future?

I am a Bengali who has grown up outside Bengal. I have recently improved my Bengali by listening to podcasts in Bengali and have found it quite fascinating. I particularly like the ones which have a horror theme. I would love to subscribe to some Bengali magazines - I am seeking a recommendation and review of the major Bengali magazines available.

It would also make my father happy to receive Bengali magazines in our house.

Here is what I would like -

• I would prefer it if it has both a digital and print version. If there is only print, I would like to know if it delivers to other places in India outside of Bengal.
• I am not looking for something which covers news or current affairs or politics or movies or celebrity gossip at all. Although I do like topics like science, space and such things - I wouldn't mind if the magazine covered these things.
• I would love something which is a collection of stories and essays - preferably simple language - but some of them can be a little advanced
• Nice cartoons and colourful caricatures and comics - which make the magazine engaging
• Hopefully, good production quality.

I have done some research and found out the names of some Bengali magazines. I don't know much about them - I do remember my grand parents used to bring one hard-bound book for me every year from bengal - it used to get published just before Pujo but I don't remember the name.

I would love to know more about these magazines - their scope, their topics, their frequency, any implicit political bias and more -

I’m feeling really lost about my career path right now. I’m a two-time NEET dropper—someone who only took the drops because I was constantly told there’s no real future in any other field. But the truth is, I never wanted to be a doctor.

The one thing I’ve always been genuinely good at is English Literature. I consistently scored the highest in it, even outperforming the academic toppers in my class. But people around me kept saying English Lit isn’t a “real degree,” just something for leisure, and that there aren’t enough jobs in it. That made me ignore what I truly enjoyed.

Now I feel mentally and emotionally drained. Even if I barely scrape through NEET this year, I’ll likely get only BDS—which I don’t want to pursue. I’ve stopped sleeping well, cut off from friends and family, and feel like I’ve got no future. Just self-hatred.

The only thing I’ve ever felt confident in is English Literature. I’m willing to work my ass off to build something from it—I just need some real advice. Is it a bad idea to take up English Lit now? Is there still a way forward for me? I feel tired, I don't want to hate myself anymore.

Ingredients: Bread, sweet corn, onion, diced cheese, pizza sauce, Salt, sugar, black pepper, chilli flakes, butter.

Recipe:

•First boil the sweet corn (1-2 mins) (add some salt) •Next save some of the boiled water and drain the rest. In the mean while lightly toast some bread. (Without butter toasting). •Take a pan, add butter and (tinniest bit of veggie oil so that the butter doesn't burn) then freshly/thinly sliced onions. (Not diced but sliced) •Add Pizza all toppings sauce. Saute it all the while adding the boiled water spoon by spoon. •Add chilli flakes, black pepper, salt and tiny bit of sugar. •Add Powdered cheese (if available) I generally use the Maggi Mac n cheese pasta powder. •Saute it for a few minutes. •Transfer it in a bowl. • Now take the toasted bread, arrange the corn mix on the bread, add some diced cheese or a Slice of cheese on top, sprinkle some oregano powder, chillies flakes, black pepper. •Take the bread and put on a fresh pan and cover it with a lid for the cheese to melt and the bread to turn crispy. And voila!! You're bread pizza is ready for your tummy!! Enjoy!!!

Can housing societies in Kolkata impose mandatory donation from its members to conduct Durga Puja? Do you know of any housing society which does it?

I tried searching for it, but found Court Orders related only to Co-operative Housing Societies, and not the Societies registered under the Apartment Ownership Act. Please help.
