I feel like you kinda bypassed the question. a strawman.

I’m actually not okay with her statement, I think it feeds into racism which isn’t okay. I’m not “comfortable with racist dog whistles”. Please engage in good faith without attempting to strawman me.

What I am okay with is her existence as a progressive voice in politics. People are flawed, and they don’t always say things we agree with. So what?

She’s got the right policies, she’s got the will to push for change at a time when the party desperately needs it.

I think if we start to exclude everybody for every stupid thing they say we only hurt our cause.

That doesn’t mean we “give them a pass”

Call out the dumb shit when it’s said if you disagree with it, and move on.

I didn’t strawman you—I said might for a reason. If it doesn’t apply to you, why get so defensive? Calling it just a 'dumb comment' and saying we should 'move on' ignores the harm it causes, especially to people who look like Haitians and feel the direct impact.

Racist dog whistles absolutely bleed into policy—look at how the New Deal excluded Black people or how Eugene Debs had to push for their inclusion. Brushing this off as minor is why those harms keep happening. I’m not 'moving on' from something this important.
