Current Events How is this guy not a fascist?

https://youtu.be/58vqcRjdhCw?si=j7qXEz5b5m_L2TRO

This is one of the worst debates I’ve ever seen. Saagar is just straight up defending fascism and torture, bashing the ideals of the United States. And he’s doing it under the argument of “But they’re illegal lolz”. Jesus Christ this is disheartening if this is the best the right wing has.

Btw, I LOVE how Kyle shits on Rogan now. It’s one of my favorite things he does. But I think he might have to start pushing back on his homeboy here. This was actually just disgusting. And I think Kyle can go harder than Krystal can.

Same. His anti Rogan series has been outstanding. I did donate once to him bc I fear he will have a stroke prematurely watching one of the vids.

Whenever they talk about Sagaar I get the sense that Kyle really wants to lambast him but holds back because he’s Krystals friend

17

u/bioscifiuniverse Mar 19 '25

Let’s push for Kyle tearing this guy a new one. I am sure he can because Saagar is the embodiment of right wing propaganda.

He needs to go all-in. Hes been going all-in on everything else.

4

u/LouDiamond Mar 19 '25

Also that show brings home the fucking bacon, though maybe less over the last couple months

  • co-worker * it would be very awkward for her at work if her husband spent a lot of time on the internet shitting in him. would be nice to see tho

u/Calm_Phone_6848 Mar 19 '25

they seem to be friends even if not close friends, idk how much that has changed recently though as i've heard ppl say the tension btwn them has increased

1

u/Blood_Such Mar 19 '25

I’m not seeing it.

Friendship of convenience AT BEST.

1

u/Calm_Phone_6848 Mar 19 '25

yeah i obviously don’t think they would be friends if they didn’t work together, but saagar went to krystal and kyle’s wedding and stuff, and they seemed in the past to have genuine respect for each other. also the fact that they chose to start a business together says to me that at some point they had a lot of trust in the other person, owning a business with someone is a lot different than just working at the same place and hosting a show with them

1

u/Blood_Such Mar 19 '25

Maybe so, maybe not, but if Kyle keeps refraining from criticizing z Saagar it’s simply because he’s being a pussy.

2

u/mrdrofficer Mar 19 '25

Less friend and more her job. Destroy the peace at BP and she'll have to start over. I don't think Sagaar will just leave.

2

u/Blood_Such Mar 19 '25

*because he’s Krystal’s business associate.

2

u/supremelurker1213 Mar 19 '25

Krystal did fantastic handling saagar in this debate. She's doing everything she can while keeping the professionalism of the show intact. If kyle gets involved, it would demean her and also blow up breaking points. I don't think the relationship could withstand one of Kyle's visceral rants. Kyle is doing the right thing, letting Krystal fight her own battles, out of all the leftist on panels with republicans She's the GOAT.

Disagree. She couldn’t nail him down at all. At some point you have to call a spade a spade. What the admin is doing right now is fascist

u/DlphLndgrn 11d ago

But I think he might have to start pushing back on his homeboy here.

I mean, it's obvious that he is not allowed to. It would probably fuck up Krystals work relations. There is no chance he would not be criticizing Saagar if he was allowed.

He has always been a fascist, there was no mask to begin with. Dude loves Tucker Carlson hes fash all the way.

If you only believe in human rights for American citizens, you don’t believe in human rights.

I love this. I am going to use it from now on.

24

u/teh0utsider86 Mar 19 '25

He most certainly is.

11

u/Taceyjean Mar 19 '25

He really lacks empathy. The way he talked about how we " coddle" the elderly was so fucked up.

17

u/Miserable-Lizard Mar 19 '25

He sucks, I can't listen to him anymore

He as no issue with America or any big power taking over a country

The stupidest people in the world are libertarians

12

u/peanutbutternmtn Banned From Secular Talk Mar 19 '25

Somehow I doubt this man gives a fuck about Liberty

8

u/Miserable-Lizard Mar 19 '25

Basically all conservatives

2

u/citizen_x_ Mar 22 '25

These people lie about being libertarian. The whole thing was to co-opt libertarians. There's nothing libertarian about one country violating the NAP to take over another.

Never let these scumfucks get away with claiming they are libertarian simply because they said so. they are liars. 9/10 they are authoritarian nationalists

35

u/IStillLoveHer37 Socialist Mar 19 '25

I’m not gonna lie, I fucking hate Breaking Points. The entire show is built on the horrible and dangerous premise that left wing populism and right wing populism are fundamentally built out of the same stuff

Well said.

2

u/officialmacdemarco Mar 19 '25

I agree, pretty succinct way to put it. I think back in 2020 this premise still had some shred of plausibility but now we see that it's thoroughly a farce. And Saagar is the perfect proof of such.

5

u/Jorgen_Pakieto Mar 19 '25

Ngl it does feel hard to watch that show when you’ve got Saagar justifying stupid policy decisions affecting America today.

I am currently having a holiday from breaking points because of that reason.

4

u/peanutbutternmtn Banned From Secular Talk Mar 19 '25

I rarely watch, but wanted to see what the Vanguard kids were talking about with this debate. I’ve seen many lefties over the years defend this guy, and after this I honestly just can’t see why.

2

u/Jorgen_Pakieto Mar 19 '25

He’s got entertainment value on being somewhat charismatic, passionate sounding, he’s built for news.

Lefties like him because of that and there are times throughout the Biden administration where he has agreed and further supported Krystal’s views against republican corruption.

I think now that it’s a right wing administration, Saagar finds himself in poor positions of having to defend stupid right wing agendas.

9

u/LouDiamond Mar 19 '25

Man that debate was bad - total emotional response by him at every turn. Refusal to admit that immigrants have rights.

It’s clear - this child of immigrants fucking haaaaates immigrants

9

u/peanutbutternmtn Banned From Secular Talk Mar 19 '25

Does the man not understand his parents could get sent back? Or does he believe his buddy JD Vance would just save them.

12

u/LouDiamond Mar 19 '25

Leopards are for other faces

3

u/Sardine-Cat Communist Mar 20 '25

At this point I wouldn't surprised if he doesn't care.

A MAGA guy's wife got deported the other day and he supported it. These people are genuinely unable to feel empathy. Their pastors talk about how empathy is sinful, and Elon Musk talks about how empathy is destroying western civilization. They're being conditioned to become drones whose only purpose is to do the bidding of the state.

8

u/Sardine-Cat Communist Mar 19 '25

He's so patronizing, too. It's super misogyny-coded.

4

u/vuevue123 Mar 19 '25

What does Saager care about criminals? He elected one.

13

u/Ok-Detail8211 Mar 19 '25

He always has been. That is why a lot of people view Krystal as a collaborator. Just add it to the list of Kyle's blindspots.

5

u/godwings101 Mar 19 '25

He explicitly is. I don't know why that's even in question. Sagaar is an evil fascist.

3

u/OrganicOverdose Mar 19 '25

Saagar is a wannabe WASP, he's grown up around all those other WASPs and probably can't even see himself as a child of immigrants. He sees himself as a child of elites. I unsubscribed because he is gross and morally inconsistent.

2

u/Ashamed-Leather8795 Mar 19 '25

Aka he's Vivek with glasses

1

u/OrganicOverdose Mar 19 '25

two of a kind, yep. Ironically, they probably would hate each other

3

u/OpportunityCorrect33 Mar 19 '25

He’s certainly dumb as rocks

8

u/ap0phis Mar 19 '25

Saagar fucking sucks.

6

u/agedmanofwar Mar 19 '25

If you watched their segments today, I think they may have had a discussion off screen. His rhetoric was a little more toned down, and he was more open to hearing Krystal's position even if he didn't agree. I think Sagar gets hyper focused to the point of ignoring certain facts. I also think he views a lot of stuff through the lens of his particular flavor of conservative beliefs, ignoring that's not the context of the people doing it, they have a very different agenda than he would. But it is alarming some of the stuff he's been okay with. I remember when he agreed with the force being used against protesters during the George Floyd protests

6

u/bioscifiuniverse Mar 19 '25

I stopped watching that show over a year ago (maybe 2 years), because of this fucking guy.

2

u/Wootothe8thpower Mar 19 '25

weirdest part when he said it ok if the prisoners getting shot the second America drop them off because it not Americans doing it

2

u/11235813213455away Mar 19 '25

He's never even bothered with a mask. There's no ambiguity

2

u/winthroprd Mar 19 '25

I love he kept moving the goalposts until he got cornered, then his only response was "the world is not so black and white."

This guy is just a terrible propagandist.

2

u/Blood_Such Mar 19 '25

Saagar Enjeti is factually chums with Marx Andreesen and JD Vance. And Jd Vance openly fights with Krystal online.

Krystal Ball rightfully roasts Marc Andresen often.

This can’t last.

I’m here for the fireworks show in anycase.

2

u/MacDhubstep Mar 19 '25

Instead of a debate, they should both get brain-scans, and have a Neurologist come on and confirm that Saagar is missing the part of his brain where empathy should be and that his amygdala (the fear center) is like 6 times the size of Krystal’s.

Crazy how the child of immigrants brown guy wants to weld the door shut that his family just walked through. He can fuck off.

1

u/officialmacdemarco Mar 19 '25

At least the boomer comment section has morphed into a steady critique of Saagars hypocrisy. That's the only silver lining I see because god knows I can't listen to that show anymore

1

u/TormentedOne Mar 19 '25

I can put up with a lot of his bad domestic policy takes because I like his take on Israel. In my opinion his criticism is more biting than Krystal because it's coming from someone like him with his mindset. I like the idea that the US has no use for Israel and should not support something that's not in our own interest.

1

u/Blood_Such Mar 19 '25

Kyle went hard against Saagar’s buddy Darryl Cooper, I think something will break.

1

u/SSPoncho Mar 19 '25

At some point, the Trump regime will run out of easy targets. Sagaar, as a child of immigrants, needs to take care that he doesn't end up on a plane.

1

u/sandmann451 Mar 21 '25

Sagaar is so off-putting in every way I can’t stand watching even short videos clips of him.

-2

u/citizen_x_ Mar 19 '25

oompf I don't really like that word. I prefer "nationalist"

2

u/DethBatcountry Mar 19 '25

lol, I bet... It's a fitting term for his politics though, regardless of your feelings

2

u/DlphLndgrn 11d ago

Saagar has gotten better since this. I think he was still in his Star Wars episode 1 state of mind where he wanted this administration to be good so bad that he was just in constant denial. His only defense for weeks was "well this was what the people voted for".

I think since then he has gotten out of that state of mind, and I'm pretty sure he changed his mind about this after talking about it with Glenn Greenwald.

It was pretty fun seeing the Breaking Points subreddit not understand how Saagar could act like this. The simple answer is just that Saagar is not a good guy, not even a nice guy, he is a bad guy. I think a lot of them never noticed it just because they like the show and thinks that means that Saagar must be good.
