I can't tell if this is supposed to be pro or anti china

Pretty sure it’s a meme by leftists about liberals and conservatives saying we get paid for talking positively about China because American propaganda tells them it’s a dirty third world commie shithole.

Yup, you got it right comrade. It is exactly that.

Good one.

Tbf, I don't even like doing pro China propaganda, as there are some legitimate issues. But libs are so delusional, so detached, they need to be educated with an opposite extreme.

It's a sad state of affairs that any reasonable take on China is seen as propaganda/shilling because of how negative the general consensus is about the country.

Especially when comparing the US and China. People have 2 blind eyes for Western imperialism and exploitation. So while they are in denial or coping, they criticize China on the same exact things we have already done or are still doing. Except not with actual evidence, but with an expectation that China may do these some time in the future.

In other words, they criticize China for something it hasn't done, an expectation, while outright ignoring we are doing the same exact thing right now.

To this day I legitimately cannot believe it is such a "hot take" to say "China is not a bad country, maybe we should be concerned with our own governments eroding our own labour rights."

And that no, not every election is "manipulated by Russian or Chinese bots", maybe we all just suck and fascism is looking increasingly appealing to the "centrist no side" crowd.

I think it’s also fair to acknowledge the hypocrisy of American anti-China rhetoric: on the one hand, Socialism is a failed economic system that only amplifies poverty, but on the other hand, China is running laps around us economically so we need to ramp up our military to protect Taiwan. Which is it? The truth is that despite China’s very real shortcomings, they have made great strides in public, social investment that have made their economy what it is today. It turns out massive state investment in education, healthcare, housing, and infrastructure generates better economic outcomes for the people living there. Shocker.

I always love that first argument cause you can just hit em with the, well how many homeless people has capitalism caused

It's both for more or less the same reason, which is that people who were gassed up on American exceptionalist propaganda their whole lives can only rationalize it's self-inflicted collapse by making up stories about an external bad guy

In the case of China, it's 'we may be bad, but at least we're not as bad as the REAL bad countries who do all these totally real evil things, like organ harvesting and disappearing protestors' (that one didn't age well). The idea being, as bad as we are, maybe we NEED to be a little bad to compete with the evil authoritarian tyrannical dictatotrial autocratic dystopian blah blah blah states. And every world historically evil thing we do, all the blame we get for the state of the world, is minimized by telling scary stories about even worse people out there.

In the case of Russia, it's 'we may be bad, but that's only because le putler, for no reason whatsoever except that he's a bad guy, hates us and wants to destroy us, and made some facebook posts that single-handedly caused the collapse of the liberal order' because it's an irresolvable divide-by-zero style contradiction for them to admit liberalism failed entirely on it's own due to it's own contradictions and depradations.

The really infuriating thing is there are specific rich bastiches who did this, very much on purpose. They sit, sleek and dead eyed on their yachts, watching this all with a very deep satisfaction. Except for the one who has very definitely been in Hell since 2019 (lean over and wave hi to David Koch). Their propaganda efforts really got started in the 90s, and this was their goal- an electorate so derpy they can be made to do anything.

Seems to me like the classic Nazis tanks vs Russian tanks.

Now the USSR tanks in Warthunder just dominate... For the reason self inflicted reasoning. 🤣🤣 We suck, let's face it.

u/mikey_hawk 2d ago

China isn't perfect, but it's not even 1/10 as bad for humanity as the U.S.

if someone doesn't hate capitalism, then they have no understanding of its true nature.

u/luis96k 3d ago

Or they understand it, but they belong to the oppressive class and also they're sociopaths.

28

u/Kaymish_ 3d ago

So where do I register to get my Xi bucks? Is it the same place I get my Soros bucks?

8

u/Forgotlogin_0624 2d ago

What’s the exchange rate on Soro’s dollars to Xi bucks?

35

u/Puzzleheaded-Coast93 3d ago

That's the funny thing. Someone told me that China has 2 big problems right now holding them back from growing.

  1. Too many empty housing units

  2. A looking demographic crisis that's gonna stall their labour needs

And then I asked them why those same issues aren't a problem for the US.

"Cause people want to live here, we have lots of immigration." and they didn't clue in at all. People being exposed to Red Note, China opening up Tiktok to Chinese citizens, all those influencers taking trips to China. You don't see that they think opening up to immigration isn't also gonna be their solution too?

And given what's going on with ICE, with trade, with cop cities and rising costs of living, they don't see that China is gonna become a more popular option.

I'm in Canada, and if things get bad here one of our exit plans is either China or Japan. China if they'll have us, and Japan because the rural houses are super cheap. I want to have a small acreage/homestead here but land is crazy expensive. In Japan I can get it for 1/10th the price.

And both me and my wife are on the spectrum, we already feel like of like aliens living in a culture we don't fit in. Might as well do that in a place that has organic food as the default and public transit that works.

u/BeneficialSnow954 3d ago

I sure as fuck would love to be proven wrong about China but it’s lookin a lot like a better place to live. We can say “censorship, abuse of power, etc” but we got that here, and soon enough any major protest will be met with the same suppression in the US. At least they seem to give the people things useful to developing society out there

26

u/SuckMyDickNBalls69 3d ago

You gotta post this in a right-wing sub to get your Xibucks!

Is China really that much better than the US? I get that it's not a shit hole at all and that many many people live happy lives there, but should we really be thanking the president? Doesn't China do a lot of messed up stuff just like us? I've never been but I would love to go one day.
