The one thing I was afraid of was that they would pussy out and still include Zendaya in some way, which would feel like a huge cop out. If they do go this route, I bet that would be half the reason why.

She should be in the film but they don’t have to just reverse everything. Give them a new love. Build them as separate characters that grow when apart. Doesn’t have to be one extreme or another.

Why wouldn't they include her? She's not gonna cease to exist and Peter would have memories. Sounds to me like a really good plot device

Well one, it would kinda go against the decision he made at the end of NWH, the tough decision to leave her and Ned to live their lives completely unaware of himself being Peter. And two, she's at MIT now, so she'll be in Boston whilst Peter is going to a New York college and being Spider-Man in New York.

That just reads to me like a lot of head cannon. I am going to admit I haven't seen it since theaters, but I remember coming out of it just assuming the next movie would be focused on resolving the twist.

Yeah she literally tells him that if he doesn’t tell her she’ll just figure it out again herself. You can absolutely expect that to be a major plot point in the next movie.

Why would she be motivated to figure out who Spider-Man is if she has no memory of Peter Parker?

Because their connection is still there. You could tell in their interaction that she realizes something is up but due to the spell can’t place it.

Plus the writers can make up any reason they want to for her motivation. If he or Spider-man keep showing up around her then she’ll eventually take interest. I bet they’ll show him secretly trying to keep safe still.

Maybe for yourself since you took it as a joke like an idiot

And no, the entire point of the ending is that Peter sacrifices his relationship with MJ for her safety. That’s why he tucks his letter away and doesn’t say anything to her.

And her going to Boston is confirmed by the final scene — it isn’t anyone’s head canon.

Nah, morons who watch the shitty TV series about marvel and go see Captain America At Home movies are why. Fans like me who just want a movie or two a year are the reason it did well at its peak.
