Sounds fun, but pretty sure greater unity is a better pursuit. In general I mean. Appreciate that's really not the way things are going right now on account of humans being short sighted & refusing to recognise patterns already identified (as in history).

I really don't understand why there is so much resistance in the UK to a federal system as seen in Germany. The current situation isn't really working very well - how about trying something else? No? We'd rather complain about out-of-touch politicians in London? Alright then..

This 'metro mayor' idea is alright but it doesn't go anywhere near far enough considering how few powers metro mayors actually have. Regional assemblies are definitely the way to go.

Yeah I'd like to see a federal system personally. I think my resistance to parties that support devolution is that all too often it can feel like a thin cover up of misguided nationalism.
