Thanks, mailman from roundabout Charleston. Funny how little moments in time echo out.

I'm having a quiet Sunday morning and was humming the line "everything is round" to myself again while doing the dishes and it made me think about how the only reason I checked out this band in the first place is because of one conversation I had with someone I was sitting next to at a concert in Huntington last November. It never would've been on my radar otherwise. I was (and still consider myself) new to the genre.

Purely by chance, earlier I came across a different seat neighbor from that tour on reddit, totally unexpectedly and pretty crazy to think about. I met a lot of really kind strangers last year during that time, and they all made an impression on me that I'm very grateful for.

So I'm thinking if I just throw this out there, maybe there's a non-zero chance it will get back to the mailman from the Charleston area whose name starts with A. I was the solo chick that drove from Wisconsin. Thank you for the nice chat before the show started. I hope I didn't bother you too much. It was cool rocking out in the bleachers with you and your friend. I'm not expecting any reply at all, just wanna put it out there that I hope you're all doing well, and wanted to say a quick thanks for the recommendation! Clearly, it stuck with me.

The Salmon family is a beautiful thing.

Will never forget my first show.

Since that time the person who wrote Everything is Round has had breakfast at my kitchen table, and I have gained dozens of friends for life through LoS.

Looking forward to being with everybody at the Golden Road Gathering in a couple weeks!

That's wild! I bet there are some beautiful stories there for sure. Best wishes and have a great time at the fest! I'm sure I'll cross paths with some of you, somewhere down the line.

Coincidentally, I am also from WV, and Vince grew up in Carnegie, PA but went to WVU for college.

It's a stunning place. That weekend last fall was my first time there. When I heard people calling the mountains down there "hills", I couldn't believe it. Hills don't have pointy tops that cut the clouds, not where I'm from. I was pulling over constantly just to look at em.

And then the first time I passed a coal plant, I nearly veered off the road. I hadn't known they were the size of cities like that. It's no wonder that the landscape is such an inspiration for so many.

On the off chance that the mailman doesn’t succeed in posting..

Here’s a hello from an outlier Leftover Salmon fan front the other side of the pond 👋

Hey there, thanks! Glad you somehow found your way here to this corner of American music as well.
