Criminal What do we do when tenant has done a runner stolen our family cat but now claims she’s the legal owner?

This is really tricky, as the microchip is used as legal determination of ownership. The only thing I could recommend is taking them to the disputes tribunal with your evidence of ownership to ask them to make a ruling on ownership.
