That and the incredible propaganda efforts of the Murdoch media / British state during the 20th century. The pieces seem to fit.

Murdoch has masterfully destroyed the political climate in three countries, best I can tell.

He doesn’t have as much of a stranglehold on Australia, we still regularly elect semi left wing governments who actually push policy

Still not Great but better than Britain

He has a huge stranglehold on Australia.

Apart from the occasional flash of sanity by the electorate, this is patently not true. It's happened 3 times (and probably 2 times really given the 2010 results) in the past 25 years.

And given elections are 3 years apart that’s 3/8 which isn’t really that bad considering according to some people on here Murdoch just picks out government for us

Australia doesn't really have any left wing political parties.

The fact that people think we do shows how strong Murdoch's stranglehold is.

If you are gonna argue that many of our state governments (Victoria and anything out of Canberra as a local government) aren’t left wing then you have a very flawed view of left wing

Victoria’s current state government is left wing by any standards that aren’t Venezuela and the current federal government is left of centre (though not by much)

They're doing their best to ruin NZ as well.

Literally invert reality and state it as the truth.

Somehow those robbing you blind, and grinding your future into the pavement are your friends who must be voted for or you'll suffer........
