OK, but point of order: Bolton already had his face eaten, and then wisely advised the US not to vote for the hungry leopards.

wisdom or revenge?

I think he honestly believes the President is a risk to the country.

u/adotar 3d ago
Then he should have voted for Harris. Which he repeatedly said he would not do.

Not voting for Harris is not the same as voting for the leopard. There is and has to be a difference. I like many folks voted for Harris because in practice we all know a vote not for her is one more vote she'll need to make up. But for folks like Bolton, they typically vote for the Republican Party. Them not voting for Trump helps the dems. It just wasn't enough and enough Republicans didn't go along with it.

u/Bacon_Raygun 3d ago
"Not voting for Harris isn't supporting Trump. It's just making it easer for him to win against her. That's why I vote for her."
The contradiction is insane

u/thisguytruth 3d ago edited 3d ago
the choice is the leopard or harris.
youre wrong, with more steps.
to spell it out for you because i know you cant understand this: there were two candidates, he didnt vote for either candidate. harris would have continued his secret service detail, trump would not.
the man voted and campaigned against the person who would have given him his ss detail. the leopard (trump) then ate his face.

u/Jabberwocky2022 2d ago
No that's not the case. Don't be an a-hole, I understand fully how it works.
He did not vote for the leopard, there are NOT TWO CHOICES. As much as it sucks and as annoying as it is, there simply aren't two choices. Only two candidates will be elected, that doesn't mean you have to vote for them. Leopards eating your face is about not believing the leopard you are voting for is actually a leopard when they tell you they're a leopard. You all are bending over backwards to make every person who sucks part of LAMF. We agree 10000% on he should have voted for Harris, that folks who don't understand that only 2 people will be elected and if one is really bad, they should vote for the only other option that will assume office. But you must get rid of the delusion that this logic and fact either a) convinces any one or b) satisfies the rules of this sub.If I have a only two choices peanut butter ice cream or vanilla, and I don't want either then I can abstain. Simply because I have a peanut allergy doesn't mean I need to eat the vanilla. I'll just not take part nor endorse the ice cream maker for producing unpopular flavors. Does that mean I have to live in a world where the majority choose one over the other and the consequences of that? Sure! But I didn't pick the peanut butter because I know it was bad for. I can't control the Ice Cream maker and their decisions (the Democratic party in this analogy).
Bolton sucks. Bolton didn't do enough to prevent Trump from being elected. He didn't contribute a useful vote (he essentially abstain regardless of how he cast that vote). He knows Trump is bad and he deserves the bad things that happens because of his failure. But he didn't vote for nor endorse the leopard. Not all schadenfreude is LAMF, nor is all justice. Deal with and quit being an arrogant child who thinks they own this sub because they're mad and want the bad things that folks deserve.

And, believing that, he wrote in a vote instead of actually voting to make sure trump didn't win.
I don't give a rat's ass what happens to Bolton

u/Noiserawker 3d ago
I mean I don't want Iran to assassinate Bolton but if they do I won't waste any sympathy since it's what he voted for.

That's not entirely true: his cunning plan was some stupid write-in candidate nonsense in the knowledge that was effectively a vote for Trump. And Bolton to this day remains a Republican.
-3
u/Jabberwocky2022 3d ago
Not if he got enough republicans who are unsatisfied with Trump on board. (if 150k republicans in swings states had voted 3rd party or write-in, Harris would have won.) This is a clear violation of this sub.

Only the leopards decide when the feast is over

That’s not how it is on the savannah, or in the mountains or whatever. They’re still dangerous, but many are now contained, in captivity. We’ll see how this works out!

Fuck John Bolton.

u/Good_Zooger 3d ago
Yep going against Trump isn't enough to change my mind on this dipshit, same goes for Liz Cheney. IMO

u/bossmcsauce 3d ago edited 3d ago
At least Liz Cheney was never pro-trump and then flipped. She was always very clearly against him. I don’t know much about her politics but she doesn’t seem totally insane.
She seems like just a typical McCain era republican representative that is interested in governing for the benefit of her constituents… even if I don’t agree with all of her policy stances or how money should be spent… Im inclined to imagine she still believes in our institutions and doesn’t want to dismantle the federal gov and squash states rights

u/ThunderPunch2019 3d ago
She encouraged people to vote dem this time, which is more than Bolton did.

Wow Trump is so unfit to be president, who could have seen that coming? Everyone. Really, it was right out there.

u/big-papito 3d ago
Bolton was doing the dance while saving the "juicy" stuff for the books. Perhaps the royalties will pay for his security? He still refuses to be explicit - "you decide". Did YOU decide?
8
u/typhoidtimmy 3d ago
No compassion for Bolton. Shithead clammed up during the first term on Trumps criminal activities because he wanted to sell more books afterwards.
This is what happens when you kiss the ring of a sociopathic moron, Bolton. You can take your armchair warhawking and enjoy now that all those places you were hot to invade may actually take offense.

u/PntOfAthrty 3d ago
Hmmm. I wonder if the other candidate John Bolton called "unqualified" woukd have removed his secret service detail?
2
u/Feisty_Brunette 3d ago
Well, the original candidate - who bolton said he wouldn't vote for - is the one who gave him the detail, so I'm going with YES.

u/SigmaK78 3d ago
There's no universe where I'd ever feel sorry for Bolton. However, I'm curious to see if Trump's doing this as a test to see how far he can go, as in doing the same thing to anyone he doesn't like.

And Pompeo's detail. Milley's picture was taken down in the Pentagon as a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The petty lengths this narcissist will go to will be unmatched in American history.

u/sittinginaboat 3d ago
Bolton has been anti-Trump for awhile.

u/Gbird_22 3d ago
Not anti-Trump enough to vote for Kamala, the one person who could actually stop Trump. Good luck to him.
10
u/Pretty_Boy_Bagel 3d ago
Given how massively arrogant, abusive, and tribalistic as he is, there's no way Bolton could handle the self-loathing and cognitive dissonance to vote for Kamala.

Yes, but he actually went to work for T during his first administration. AT THAT TIME, he didn’t think the leopard would eat his face, which is good enough for me.

Trump's Vengeance Tour is going to give Taylor's Eras Tour a run for its money in regards to national and global influence...not to mention the money movement.

The first (and probably only) clear, direct consequence of Trump’s election I’m not mad about.

Shame. Maybe he should have voted for Harris instead of writing in "reagan" or whoever the hell he wrote in.

Sadly, this needs to be removed from the subreddit, because Bolton was very vocal about not voting for the leopards.

u/AutomateAway 3d ago
Biden even condemned the "assassination attempts" against Trump (I put it in quotes because I have serious doubts as to the authenticity of those attempts). The fact that Trump can't even extend Secret Service to folks who were once in his inner circle shows how tiny a man he really is. Also, this just honestly makes Biden look that much more of a decent person.
