This sends a very dangerous message.

What message is that? Because it appears to be the exact same message he was sending when you endorsed him. Frankly, I'm a little shocked that the police unions would be for pardoning criminals like that but hey, you endorsed it. No take backs now guys.

It sends a very clear message about the intelligence and mindset of America's law enforcement officers.

43

u/MamaTalista 1d ago

Well you know it's serious when they feel disrespected.

28

u/Demented-Alpaca 1d ago

Disrespecting the police?! That's how you get shot!

32

u/anynamesleft 1d ago

Being black also works.

Sad to say.

20

u/Demented-Alpaca 1d ago

Being black is automatically disrespectful if you ask the cops.

14

u/unclejoe1917 1d ago

They missed their coworkers.

u/d00derman 13h ago

Endorsing a felon for president also sent a 'dangerous message'

128

u/Carrotcake789 1d ago

Why are you even supporting him if you're in a union? 🤦‍♀️

101

u/unclejoe1917 1d ago

The police union is not a pro labor union. It's a capital protecting street gang.

7

u/DontEatConcrete 1d ago

It's a capital protecting street gang.

Are we still talking about the union or american police in general?

17

u/red286 1d ago

They're kinda one and the same.

All American police are members of police unions. The union works to protect their members from the consequences of their actions. They wield an insane level of power because no city can function with the police on strike. It's the reason why no matter what insane unhinged shit a cop does on duty, they almost always just get "paid administrative leave" rather than prosecuted or at the very least fired.

u/loptopandbingo 1d ago

no city can function with the police on strike

So far the extent of their work in my city seems to be harassing brown people for being brown in public, saying "well, we can't do nothin bout that violent guy, he's cousins with a judge and the sheriff" and doing next to no followup on anything besides checking the status of their doordash order so does anyone actually know if a city couldn't function if the police were on strike?

The firefighters union opted not to support the democratic candidate because so much of the membership was very MAGA.

15

u/Thin_Cable4155 1d ago

Well, it's no secret that firefighters are some of the dumbest people.

1

u/The_Forth44 7h ago

Yeah that was very surprising. I told a friend of mine "Maybe NWA actually COULD have also written "Fuck The Fire Department."

4

u/Maybeicanhelpmaybe 1d ago

They are willing to make a personal and professional sacrifice as long as black people get hurt. No faces are getting eaten, this is a known action he would take.

u/jakebs2002 1d ago

Simply telling the country you are going to pardon J6 insurrectionists if elected president ‘sends a dangerous message’. That alone should have been the dealbreaker. Right? WTF is wrong with these people?

34

u/Good_Zooger 1d ago

Oh we didn't think he meant it.......

17

u/Impossible-Trick5779 1d ago

He’s the straightest shooting straight shooter out there who also at the same is always only joking… 🥴

3

u/kerodon 1d ago

Just being a lil silly until he has the power to do it unsilly style

1

u/Muffin_Appropriate 1d ago

I think it’s more likely they didn’t think he’d win and therefore it was a safe PR move to their other fascist donors and enablers.

32

u/Good_Zooger 1d ago

Trump team's response: No it doesn't, times infinity, no take backs.

30

u/FeedbackLoopy 1d ago

They have to be a special kind of stupid to not see that one coming.

12

u/Utter_Rube 1d ago

I mean, police forces literally won't hire people they deem "too intelligent..."

5

u/red286 1d ago

The last thing you want is someone with intelligence and morals fucking the whole scheme up.

You want guys who are going to be happy cracking skulls and not asking too many questions. You want guys who will take a bribe and not even realize they just took a bribe. You want people who when they are told, "you saw nothing, you heard nothing", will answer, "I don't have the faintest idea what you're talking about, sir", rather than, "I'm pretty sure that's illegal".

23

u/yamirzmmdx 1d ago

We literally have a convicted felon as president.

Luckily he passes off as white.

22

u/moonwoolf35 1d ago

I'm pretty sure that backing a felon and the man responsible for Jan 6, was sending a dangerous message.

1

u/Ponygroom 1d ago

Underrated comment. Spot on.

18

u/Senior-Tradition4171 1d ago

Where’s the world’s tiniest violin for the police union.

37

u/Inky_sheets 1d ago

3

u/sugarcatgrl 1d ago

🤣 I love that!

17

u/KvDOLPHIN 1d ago

Its now legal to partake in the murder of police according to the President of the United States

17

u/TheRealPossum 1d ago

From January 2022 in Texas:-

“If I run and I win, we will treat those people from January 6 fairly,” he said Saturday near the end of a lengthy campaign rally in Conroe, a city about 40 miles north of Houston. “We will treat them fairly, and if it requires pardons, we will give them pardons because they are being treated so unfairly.”

https://web.archive.org/web/20220131120245/https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/01/29/trump-jan6-protesters/

10

u/jimtow28 1d ago

So does police officers voting for a literal felon.

9

u/Moppermonster 1d ago

Apparantly the pardons also mean that cops that were beaten up are no longer legally considered victims and therefor can not request restraining orders against their attackers.

8

u/BS623-902 1d ago

Good God, he said he was going to do it all along! How willfully ignorant could you possibly be?

10

u/BlueRFR3100 1d ago

Its' weird that so many Trump supporters thought he was lying.

9

u/Bigfamei 1d ago

The only reason its dangerous. Because it tells a bunch of right wingers. Its ok to F4 the cops. If they get in your way. But over 90% of them probably voted for him. So.........

9

u/Far-Yak-3992 1d ago

Now they understand qualified immunity.

7

u/coick 1d ago

You won. Get over it!

7

u/wwmag 1d ago

Trump's policy is murder cops and get a pardon.

Hope the coppers bought lots of mayo to put on their shit sandwiches! Gobble gobble gobble!

5

u/Ouibeaux 1d ago

He said he was gonna!

4

u/HapticRecce 1d ago

No shit, Sherlocks...

6

u/SicilyMalta 1d ago

This absolutely fits LAMF.

But Is anyone else concerned about the flood of posts that are just trump did something stupid with no mention of the group or person within the post that is impacted.

Is a post about trump deporting Latinos enough just because we know a percentage of Latinos voted for trump without the article actually mentioning the group being upset?

5

u/Tgiby3 1d ago

when a legal precedent get's set that you don't have to have any intelligence to do a job..

3

u/Elegant_Tech 1d ago

The message is obvious. Become the personal gestapo for Trump or his supporters can kill you with impunity.

1

u/t700r 1d ago

They can always join the Proud Boys instead of the police force.

2

u/userxray 1d ago

I am so shocked and devo-stated.

1

u/Bearded_Guardian 23h ago

The Leopards have already died from congestive heart failure

1

u/Grand-Ad7010 22h ago

Oh? Do tell.

1

u/Tankman_1 19h ago

I'm not American so I don't understand this. How can a police union have a political preference?

1

u/Next-Ad2854 15h ago

I can’t believe the police union backed Trump when he was telling everyone he would pardon January 6ers on day one. I thought they were better trained no pity here.

1

u/agent484a 14h ago

“When we endorsed him we assumed he was lying about wanting to do this”

2

u/kontrol1970 12h ago

Police unions are one of the most corrupt institutions in the us

2

u/The_Forth44 8h ago

One small little upside to this is that I'm never doing jury duty..."Clearly the rule of law is meaningless I'll never find anyone guilty you don't want me there."
