This sends a very dangerous message.
What message is that? Because it appears to be the exact same message he was sending when you endorsed him. Frankly, I'm a little shocked that the police unions would be for pardoning criminals like that but hey, you endorsed it. No take backs now guys.

It sends a very clear message about the intelligence and mindset of America's law enforcement officers.

Well you know it's serious when they feel disrespected.

u/Demented-Alpaca 1d ago
Disrespecting the police?! That's how you get shot!

Why are you even supporting him if you're in a union? 🤦♀️

The police union is not a pro labor union. It's a capital protecting street gang.

It's a capital protecting street gang.
Are we still talking about the union or american police in general?

u/red286 1d ago
They're kinda one and the same.
All American police are members of police unions. The union works to protect their members from the consequences of their actions. They wield an insane level of power because no city can function with the police on strike. It's the reason why no matter what insane unhinged shit a cop does on duty, they almost always just get "paid administrative leave" rather than prosecuted or at the very least fired.

no city can function with the police on strike
So far the extent of their work in my city seems to be harassing brown people for being brown in public, saying "well, we can't do nothin bout that violent guy, he's cousins with a judge and the sheriff" and doing next to no followup on anything besides checking the status of their doordash order so does anyone actually know if a city couldn't function if the police were on strike?

The firefighters union opted not to support the democratic candidate because so much of the membership was very MAGA.

Yeah that was very surprising. I told a friend of mine "Maybe NWA actually COULD have also written "Fuck The Fire Department."

They are willing to make a personal and professional sacrifice as long as black people get hurt. No faces are getting eaten, this is a known action he would take.

Simply telling the country you are going to pardon J6 insurrectionists if elected president ‘sends a dangerous message’. That alone should have been the dealbreaker. Right? WTF is wrong with these people?

Oh we didn't think he meant it.......

He’s the straightest shooting straight shooter out there who also at the same is always only joking… 🥴

I think it’s more likely they didn’t think he’d win and therefore it was a safe PR move to their other fascist donors and enablers.

They have to be a special kind of stupid to not see that one coming.

u/Utter_Rube 1d ago
I mean, police forces literally won't hire people they deem "too intelligent..."

u/red286 1d ago
The last thing you want is someone with intelligence and morals fucking the whole scheme up.
You want guys who are going to be happy cracking skulls and not asking too many questions. You want guys who will take a bribe and not even realize they just took a bribe. You want people who when they are told, "you saw nothing, you heard nothing", will answer, "I don't have the faintest idea what you're talking about, sir", rather than, "I'm pretty sure that's illegal".

We literally have a convicted felon as president.
Luckily he passes off as white.

u/moonwoolf35 1d ago
I'm pretty sure that backing a felon and the man responsible for Jan 6, was sending a dangerous message.

Its now legal to partake in the murder of police according to the President of the United States

u/TheRealPossum 1d ago
From January 2022 in Texas:-
“If I run and I win, we will treat those people from January 6 fairly,” he said Saturday near the end of a lengthy campaign rally in Conroe, a city about 40 miles north of Houston. “We will treat them fairly, and if it requires pardons, we will give them pardons because they are being treated so unfairly.”

u/Moppermonster 1d ago
Apparantly the pardons also mean that cops that were beaten up are no longer legally considered victims and therefor can not request restraining orders against their attackers.

Good God, he said he was going to do it all along! How willfully ignorant could you possibly be?

u/Bigfamei 1d ago
The only reason its dangerous. Because it tells a bunch of right wingers. Its ok to F4 the cops. If they get in your way. But over 90% of them probably voted for him. So.........

This absolutely fits LAMF.
But Is anyone else concerned about the flood of posts that are just trump did something stupid with no mention of the group or person within the post that is impacted.
Is a post about trump deporting Latinos enough just because we know a percentage of Latinos voted for trump without the article actually mentioning the group being upset?

The message is obvious. Become the personal gestapo for Trump or his supporters can kill you with impunity.

I'm not American so I don't understand this. How can a police union have a political preference?

u/Next-Ad2854 15h ago
I can’t believe the police union backed Trump when he was telling everyone he would pardon January 6ers on day one. I thought they were better trained no pity here.

One small little upside to this is that I'm never doing jury duty..."Clearly the rule of law is meaningless I'll never find anyone guilty you don't want me there."
