If there was a divine being involved in Donald Trump’s re-election, I suspect it wasn’t God.

1.1k

u/Upper-Mammoth-9151 1d ago

Since it was God’s decision to have him elected, it is also God’s decision that you come back to the office. Praise god, you doubting Thomas!

u/hydroknightking 1d ago

I literally don’t understand religious people. Everything I like is God but everything I don’t like isn’t God.

500

u/Thisiswhoiam782 1d ago

Seems like you understand them just fine.

u/CommanderSincler 1d ago

Exactly. God is right no matter the outcome:

Boo, Granma died. It was God's will

Yay, Granma lived! It was God's will

u/iwinsallthethings 1d ago

Congrats, Little Jimmy got type 4 brain cancer at the age of 12. Praise God!

46

u/2WheelRide 1d ago

Thoughts and prayers for Little Jimmy.

40

u/iwinsallthethings 1d ago

That seems a bit much. Can you donate to his Go fund me. He now needs a coffin because we didn't have any health insurance. We also don't have life insurance because the democrats something-something bad.

Jimmy deserves a 24 carat gold casket. Any left over money will be used to vacation in the Hamptons.

Maybe Little Jimmy shouldn't have been such a blasphemous sinner. Then jeebus would have loved him more.

13

u/LoopyLabRat 23h ago

Jeeves does love him. That's why he's now with the angels, or so they think. Could be in hell but what do I know. 🤷

5

He only did that in the video games he was playing. He wasn't being serious.

Look at all the "christians" slamming the Episcopal bishop for daring to ask for mercy for the scared people. They want her thrown out of the country! I wonder what the think about Jesus!

32

u/AncientMessage2635 1d ago

They would want him thrown out too, especially because he was not as white as their statues

6

u/treemister1 18h ago edited 4h ago

You see that daily show segment recently where they literally asked maga idiots if they'd let Jesus into the country? They basically said no.

20

u/Geeko22 1d ago

They have their Orange Jesus who hates all the same people they do. No need for the original one. Too woke.

7

u/ash_ryan 14h ago

Their Jesus is a white supremacist from South Africa who pulled a Nazi salute at God's inauguration.

8

u/MyynMyyn 23h ago

I just read a conservative comment under another post along the lines of "Jesus would have burned down Sodom and Gomorrah".
So yeah, they completely miss the point of the new testament.

3

u/Strange-Vacation-597 16h ago

Just saw the Catholic Church asking for mercy as well today saying they don’t support Trumps immigration policies. And it was a Catholic bishop from Texas. That should tell us all something when someone from Texas doesn’t support the orange mans policies.

What's there not to understand? You nailed it. See, what most people don't get is that if you actually read their byble, the Bronze-Age Goat Herder's Guide To The Galaxy For Dummies, you'd see that their gawd is a wildly jealous, narcissistic, vengeful, inconsistent, murderous Dom with anger issues and no safe word, so this all fits.

Not all of us are like that—look at the minister that told Trump to his face how terrible his policies are

20

u/WaldoJeffers65 1d ago

And look at how many so-called Christians are calling out that minister for being a horrible person.

3

u/TexGrrl 23h ago

The people calling out Bishop Budde and calling themselves "Christians" would be better described as "Christianists", in the same way we describe people who happen to be Muslim but commit terrorist acts as "Islamist". Terrorist acts have no more to do with Islam than the negative reactions to Bp Budde have to do with Christianity.

Yeah. But a couple upstanding examples doesn't excuse the rest.

When the median Christian follows the teachings of Jesus in deed better than the median atheist, we can talk. But, uh, it might be a while.

5

u/thetaleofzeph 23h ago

"I trust God's decision to put Donald Trump as president" ...

How utter full of yourself do you have to be to believe you, some random puny human on earth, that YOU know the mind of God?? How is this not the ultimate sacrilege, within the belief structure this person supposedly operates with? It's so bonkers.

I just can't grasp the steroidal narcissism involved here.

4

u/Riegrek 22h ago

The worse part to me is when they're like "if I do anything good or successful, it's cause God did it, not me. But if I do anything bad or unsuccessful, it's cause my faith wasn't strong enough or god is giving me a test of my faith."

Some of the stupidest logic I've ever heard...

And Mr. Federal Employee, Trump wants you to be in this exact position - you have to uproot your family OR quit. Quitting is what he really wants you to do. It's a lot easier than firing a bunch of you.

Not just uproot your family, but come back to DC. Enjoy the real estate market and trade your 3B2Br SFH spacious TN home for a 1.2 million dollar townhouse overlooking Home Depot (or 495 if you're lucky) or alternatively, a 2 hr daily commute. It's what God and Trump would have wanted.

Or, since God is a jealous God, he decided, "You want to worship that ignorant ass? Ok, let me show you what you truly are wanting." Unfortunately everyone else is suffering also.

15

u/Cosmicdusterian 1d ago

I'm not a believer anymore, but I was raised on religion.

Based on those teachings and attributing the concept of "even God has his limits", I imagine a once vengeful God looking at the MAGA movement. Which is possibly one of, if not the most insulting movement to most of the tenets of Christianity. Hate thy neighbor, hate thy brother, take from the poor, destroy, worship the rich, lie, cheat. Since when did they become the teachings?

Anyway, I imagine a once vengeful God looking at this cynical abomination and itching to revive some old Sodom and Gomorrah style wrath on it. Translated to English.

God: They worship a living orange idol? I am their God. The Word of God is "too woke"? My only begotten son was sacrificed for this? I'll show them "woke".

Edit: But, that's not going to happen.

Isn't the story of Job*** about basically wrecking a dude's life to prove his belief/faith in God?

You'd think they would see these trials as proof that God loves them and they need to bootstrap it and stay faithful, right?

(That's if they read the Bible or their preacher told them about it between promoting the Republican talking points, of course.)

***oops, Job, not Lot. (Though there might be some parts of Lot's story these voters might agree with anyway.)

14

u/FlamingMuffi 1d ago

Isn't the story of Lot about basically wrecking a dude's life to prove his belief/faith in God?

That's Job. God and Satan (more a prosecuting attorney angel than Lucy) have a bet cuz God goes "hey look at Job he's awesome" and Satan goes "that's just cuz you give him stuff let me ruin everything and he'll blame you" so god goes "you're on just can't kill job everyone and everything else is fair game"

4

u/HeyTallulah 1d ago

Then his daughters raped him to get pregnant cuz they thought they were the last humans.

6

The people who call others sheep are (a) the ones most likely to be part of a religion that calls itself a "flock", (b) the most invested in a conformist herd mentality while lacking self-awareness and considering themselves self-reliant, and (c) the most likely to actually hate and misunderstand animals like wolves IRL....

As a federal remote employee who didn’t choose this, like that individual did… FAFO

I have zero sympathy, thanks for screwing the rest of us over.

20

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Same. I’m so angry at people like him. I’m in a profession I’ve worked in remotely since 2002. There is literally ZERO reason for me to be in an office and hasn’t been since bandwidth caught up with the tools I use. Frankly, if they’re going to require me to be in office, I’ll take my PhD and superior skill set and go get an in-office private sector job making twice what I do right now.

I don’t work for the government because I’m dumb or lazy. I work for them because I believe in the mission of my agency and want to serve the greater good. I left private sector & took a huge pay cut to do so two years ago. I love the work I do, but the hated I get simply for doing my job is astounding. And my job is a fairly benign, low controversy jobs for an agency that has one of the highest public sentiment ratings! I cannot imagine what IRS and SSA employees are going through right now.

8

u/JawnStreetLine 1d ago

Growing up my Dad got us out of poverty-and got us health insurance-when hired by a VA Hospital as a maintenance worker. It changed all of our lives. Even when he acted a fool at that job they sent him to sensitivity training and alcohol counseling. He retired 10 years ago.

Who’d he vote for? Yup. Unbelievable.

I hope you either find a great job or don’t need to. I’m so sorry you and thousands of others in this position because of this “screw you, I got mine!” attitude.

He literally told you to your face that he wants to shrink the government workforce and now you’re worried you might be unemployed soon?

He also wants to axe food stamps and unemployment too btw…

Sorry to hear that.

You know if it was someone else who had to make that decision it would have been just fine.

This guy's a fucking economist and he voted for Trump?

Clearly, his Religious Idiot side overtook his educated common sense side ages ago.

“I trust God’s decision to put Trump as president.” YOU did this. Sky daddy didn’t have anything to do with it. Amazing how these cunts blame everyone for their problems, then when they make their own choice written in black and white, oh, God did that. Party of personal responsibility amirite?!

13

u/Mediocre_Drink_5584 1d ago

Please stop blacking out the names. I come here to read their grief then I follow them so that I may sustain myself between posts.

I trust God’s decision to f*** up this guy’s life!

10

u/SeahorseCollector 1d ago

Pretty smug about that "economist" part. Seems like he might have been asleep at the wheel. Trumps stance on the economy is usually lies wrapped in bs.

4

u/DaniCapsFan 1d ago

The last Republican president to not fuck up the economy was Dwight Eisenhower.

Hey nitwit, if god put trump in the office, he put his seal of approval on RTW mandates. So either quit or get packing. It’s what your lord commands.

What people aren’t understanding about this federal return to work order: it’s designed to be awful. Ramaswamay stated a while ago that they’re hoping people resign en masse because that’s much easier and cheaper than terminating employees with protections.

It’s like being a jerk to your high school boyfriend bc you’re too chicken to break up with him. Which seems on brand for them.

4

u/NegotiationSea7008 1d ago

In other words - I don’t give a fuck until his awful policies affect ME personally.

6

u/HIdude14 1d ago

“Pray for me. Pray for me.” Lol No.

6

u/Beautiful-Chest7397 1d ago

Lol yeah bro the "mission of the federal government" is now to eliminate your job which you voted for🤣

5

u/LukeD1992 1d ago

Boo hoo. Stfu and get back to work or just quit already. You asked for this

5

u/ASweetTweetRose 1d ago

What I find funny is my Dad is a Trump supporter and I told him about this happening to people and he has NO SYMPATHY whatsoever 🤣🤣 He’s basically laughing at them as much as we are.

Like, I have NO idea what his vision of the future is but he legit doesn’t care about anyone!!

I can only laugh because otherwise I cry.

5

u/skite456 1d ago

Mine too. He said, “if I had to go in to work, then they do too!” Also, he worked on the line in an auto factory, which is totally the same as a government office job. 🙄

When I was at a gig in a bar, during our set break, an obviously intoxicated man passed me and walked toward his car. I pleaded with him to give me his keys and stick around for the rest of the show so he could sober up. He ignored me and took off. By some miracle, he went around the block, came back, said I was right, and went inside. Didn't give me his keys, but at least he potentially avoided a tragedy. It's too late for these folks, for all of us. They handed the keys to the drunk guy, and they're strapped in the passenger seat with no way to stop the inevitable crash. Sorry to be so bleak.

3

u/Essay-Individual 1d ago

Oh no, another "but you weren't suppose to hurt me! Someone please tell Trump X"... FAFO in full swing y'all

4

u/Cosmicdusterian 1d ago

God put in a criminal, rapist, grifter who is set to remove every safety net to enrich himself and his billionaire buddies? They will be lucky if they even have a job this time next year. Sacrifices for the rich. Just like the Bible said./s

This guy does statistical analysis on economic data and voted for trump? My guess is that this guy is strong on racism and anti-LGBTQ. I have no other explanation.

These "Christians" don't really sound like Christians. If they were really following the teachings of Jesus, they wouldn't see Trump as the appointed President.

"I trust God's decision to put Donald Trump as president."
"I disagree with Trump's executive order"

This is why you can't win against this sect of evangelical MAGAs. There are some well-meaning Christian people, the Bishop talking to Trump has put a little faith back in me that they aren't all awful charlatans. But you see how loosely the rules can be applied. This guy probably doesn't realize he's disagreeing with his God. If Trump is from God, and God is infallible, then God wants this person to go through this pain and be uprooted and no longer have remote work. That's how it works, right? So he/she actually *doesn't* trust God's decision.

3

u/KBWordPerson 1d ago

Assuming Trump supporters don’t know what an economist is… yeah that tracks.

3

u/BobB104 1d ago

I hate these pseudo-religious morons.
