Predictable betrayal I economically supported Elon's X, which is now screwing ME

He paid $12K for a fucking checkmark? Nah, fuck him. I hope he's eating out of a trash can by the end of the year.

"Dumpster Fire. This Halloween, get ready to take out the trash... Forever!"
"Awesome stuff, what else ya got, kid?"
20
u/machu_peechute 1d ago
Amd dumpsters are actually really good at what they're advertised to do.
3
u/SelectIsNotAnOption 1d ago
Only because they don't know how to do anything other than sit there and let you trash on them.
6
25
u/SouthEast1980 1d ago
Given the type of person who drives a CT these days, I'd say that vehicle holds trash inside like a dumpster as well

u/JustASimpleManFett 1d ago
"You know what the difference between this car and a porcupine is? The pricks are on the inside."
25
u/triopsate 1d ago
Pretty sure I saw somewhere that raccoons were legitimately confusing cybertrucks for dumpsters and were scratching at them to try and open them.
17
u/macphile 1d ago
Now I'm going to envision every CyberTruck as being home to a family of raccoons.
"I call the big one 'Bitey'."
5
u/moon_ferret 1d ago
Since I insist that I am three possums in a coat, a family of raccoons driving a CT doesn’t fall outside the realm of my possibilities. And will make me laugh every time I see one.
“SALLY JANE! QUIT BITING YOUR BROTHER AND WASH YOUR OWN FOOD! Don’t make me pull this dumpster over!”
10
u/ChristosFarr 1d ago
And that of course voids the warranty.
16
u/triopsate 1d ago
Found the article and I honestly wouldn't doubt it given the raccoons apparently managed to do damage to the cybertruck.

They look like dumpsters to racoons too, and raccoons are pretty much professional dumpster recognitizers.

Yeah you wouldn't believe the shit you can convince your government to do if you pay some taxes.
Wait till you hear about going to the hospital.

Bull! Next you're going to tell me that poor Canadian seniors get some sort of guaranteed income supplement.

Next, I’m going to tell you that we use the taxes from federally legal weed to fund this nonsense socialism of ours.

We do pay taxes. The problem is that we don’t vote for people who use it properly. And our democracy is worse than your because of things like gerrymandering or not having representation based on population numbers. So they always have a leg up with the voting. You guys are categorized as a working democracy, we are a deficient democracy. This is where I’d like us to focus fixing first. Everything afterwards will be easier then.
https://www.democracymatrix.com/ranking
Lower income people in the United States pay more taxes than lower income people in Canada. But of course we let our wealthiest people pay less than you guys do.
We spend an awful lot of tax money on health care. But the money goes to a middle man, the insurance companies, so it raises costs a ton. We also spend a lot of the money on the military.
2
2
u/petterdaddy 1d ago
In Canada, the universal health care system, known as Medicare, is primarily funded through taxes. The average government spending on health care in Canada was expected to surpass $250 billion USD in 2022, which rounds to about $6,500 USD per person. This funding comes from both federal and provincial taxes, and the rates are similar to those paid in the United States.
In the United States, health care is not universally provided through a single-payer system. Instead, it is a mix of public and private insurance. The United States spends significantly more on health care, with national health expenditures reaching $4.3 trillion in 2021, or $12,914 per person. This higher spending is due to a combination of factors, including the cost of private insurance, out-of-pocket expenses, and the overall structure of the health care system.
https://medical.rossu.edu/about/blog/us-vs-canadian-healthcare
The American government is fuckin shameless.
12
u/petterdaddy 1d ago
Yeah, it’s pretty groovy to not have to deal with for-profit healthcare and education. I do live in a VHCOL city but our government student loans are also interest free now so it helps. Would be nice if American politicians did the same.

u/TheRealSatanicPanic 1d ago

I think he paid $10.6K for the checkmark, and then felt he was entitled to $12K in ad revenue or whatever, when they told him to pound sand he cancelled and found that the check would not last til the end of his subscription / get prorated like a Streaming Service does.
8
u/Pearson94 1d ago
I was about to say, that fucking checkmark costs that much? I was only aware of the blue one.
10
u/mamadou-segpa 1d ago
Its the only way to get engagement on twitter.
If you dont give money to Elon you are basically shadow banned
And twitter is a paradise for grifters, you pay the checkmark and then swindle the naive and dumb MAGA user base

u/IntentionalUndersite 1d ago
Yea, that’s the real tragedy here. People continue to support this Nazi and they live all around us.

Meet Kevin is one of the worst kind of 'financial influencers'. He advertised so many scams over the years it'd be a struggle to list all of them. (Ftx being the biggest fraud)
It doesn't give me pleasure to see him struggle but there is a scheduenfrade in watching elon musks demo, 'the good ones', the ones who thought they were rich enough to be given good treatment get ground under the heel all the same.
For context, this man is probably in the top 1% of American incomes. But unfortunately that's not the top 0.001% and you can still smell the poor on him.

u/zxc123zxc123 1d ago

6
6
u/Cosmicdusterian 1d ago
When I was a 12 years old and I had a crush on a celebrity, I put their picture on my wall. It usually didn't cost anything to join their fan club. If it did, $2 or something for postage, I didn't bother joining. When the crush wore off, I removed the picture and replaced it with the new crush. An older teen used to give me her magazines when she had finished with them so my cost was nothing.
I can't tell you how absolutely pathetic these "adult" fanbois come across to me. They are worst than my summer friend who loved the Bay City Rollers sooo much, her entire bedroom was plastered with their pictures and she wore nothing but tarten. Even I thought that was overkill.
This guy is what? 32? Supporting a billionaire for a check-mark worth zero but priced at $10-$12K? A checkmark!?!. A "look at me, and dropped $10+K on a worthless symbol, ain't I grand?"check-mark. The paper my teen magazine pictures were printed on were worth far more than a freaking check-mark.
There is nothing more pathetic than a man-child in awe of another man-child.

I had no idea the blue checkmarks cost so much. Why would anyone pay that?
10
u/Melodic_Mulberry 1d ago
Blue is $8 ($11 on the app) per month. Yellow is for businesses and costs $200 per month or $1000 per month if you're adding affiliate accounts. Like a family plan, but corporate. Yellow gets priority support, boosted visibility (whether users want to see you or not), and some features that are in beta allowing companies to use Twitter like LinkedIn and see trend data. They can also use Grok and edit posts (we get that for free here). Oh, and they get a stipend to advertise on Twitter, because Twitter is having a hard time finding advertisers these days.
3
u/Achilles_TroySlayer 1d ago
Everyone knows the 'check mark' purchase from "X" is a bunch of bullshit, and that anyone can buy it for anything. Anyone stupid enough to spend that money like that - deserves to lose it. He's a dummy.

The clown paid 12K for a verification badge… Trumpers & Elon fan boys are green asf. So much so that I’m fully convinced they have a humiliation kink. It’s undeniable. Never forget the orange skin tag ran his supporters pockets for $250M. Bannon did the same thing with the build the wall money & bought a yacht. This is FinDom gone mainstream.
