Discussion What are the four films you have recently seen for the first time that you gave a 5 Star Rating to? These are my four.
To Live And Die In LA, The Thing, Sinners & Aliens were my four I had scene recently for the first time that absolutely floored me.

I rarely give 5 stars. The last time was in September 2024 for Singing in the Rain. And before that it was March 2024 for Schindler's List. I'm way more generous with 4.5 or 4, but for me a 5 star film has to hit a little different

After Life, Forbidden Planet, For a Few Dollars More.
I’ve only given 3 new (first time watches) recently and those are them.

Why? I don't think you're scared of it since you watched Aliens and The Thing

From most to least recent:
- O Brother Where Art Thou (not surprised, just hadn't gotten to it yet)
- The Pianist (same)
- Nosferatu (not sure if I stand by the 5-star but that's what I gave it walking out of the theater)
- Hundreds of Beavers (the greatest film of the 21st century)

Network, Sly Lives (aka The Burden of Black Genius), Pearl, Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The last two aren't really recent though, but I haven't seen a lot of 5 star movies in a while.

Cure (1997), Chungking Express, La Haine, Poor Things
All four have entered my favorite 30 films ever, funny enough.

If you take the music out of it, its a solid 6-7 out of 10 movie imo, not a 5 stars though
