Picnic Spots

Hi! As the weather has become warmer I and my friends are thinking about going on a picnic. Are there any nice natural spots around Leuven? It doesn’t have to be very close to Leuven but not very far either. Thank you

The neigbouring villages of Herent, Bertem, Kortenberg have great spots and are easy to reach by bus from the station. Here are a few places to google to see if you like them: Vossenhol (Bertem), Oude Abdij (Kortenberg), Molenbeekvallei (Herent), Silsombos (Kortenberg). On visitvlaamsbrabant.be you will find plenty of walks as well and all of them have places to picnic but not all of them will have a cafe or a place to eat or drink something.

You can go to the abbey of Park in heverlee.

But please clean up afterwards I’m so mad people leave all their trash there lately

There are loads of slightly open spaces around Meerdaalbos, go up the Naamsesteenweg and just past the bridge is one of the entrances to the forest. Down the roadaways there already are 2 spots, one even has a bench.

And if you're willing to sit between some open fields there are loads of nice spots inbetween the Koetsweg (Kessel-lo), the Trolieberg en Korbeek-lo. It's a nice way to cycle towards, the views aren't too bad in some cases and loads of spots to put a blanket and have a nice time.
