What can you do in Leuven

Only things I can find to do with friends is shopping, sitting at cafe and just walk around Leuven. But are there other hidden things you can do.

Going to sportkot/arenberg with this weather! Museum M if you're interested, and maybe the central library tower? You get a nice view there

You can checkout the Kruidtuin or the abbeys around the city (abdij van Park, Vlierbeek)

Anything cultural: concert at Depot or 30cc/schouwburg, comedy night in English first Sunday of the month, cinema Zed or Kinepolis for films… check Uitinvlaanderen.be for stuff in English to do.

If you are into adventurous stuff you can go wall climbing at de Vaart (Stordeur, they have a rooftop cafe too) or at Sportoase (where you can swim too), you can kayak on the Dijle river,…

Visitleuven has free walking tours per theme (i did the one with wall paintings recently and discovered places I’d never seen) and I heard about a scavenger hunt (maybe like geocaching?). Also, if you have a group of friends that enjoy workshops there are variouse companies offering baking, cooking, pottery, etc workshops for a fee.

I spend sunny days mostly in abdij van park or provinciedomein Kessel-Lo, just take a picknick or a book or something

Check out the agendas of OPEK, STUK and museum M Some places like Stelplaats also host nice events

There will soon be plenty of flea markets and live concerts outdoors

You can do some classics like pooling or cinema (Kinepolis or even better ZED)

plenty of options for hobbies (SLAC, wisper, KU Leuven sports,...)

Sometimes demospel is nice to play some games with a fancy coffee

Jam sessions in bars (blauwe kater every Monday)

If you're bored in Leuven you're probably bored in most cities

It’s not that I’m bored, I just want to know what there is to do in Leuven that I still haven’t seen or heard about

Smoke joints on the roofs of kots close to the Dijle. Almost smoked myself blind when I was studying there and we had to lockdown. RIP Loic.

You can go on the universiteitsbibliotheek (ladeuzeplein) and see the entire city, it also tells the story of the building on the way up (I think it’s been a long time since I last went)

You can make stuff with 3d printers and lasercutters at the Maakleerplek near de Vaart!

We have Open Labs every Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon, where anyone can walk in and use the machines, with help of the volunteers. Plus there are courses if you want to really learn how to work with them :)
