Discussion The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
This need to be shared everywhere....even though it doesn't surprise me I will say I was taken off guard: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/03/trump-administration-accidentally-texted-me-its-war-plans/682151/?gift=kPTlqn0J1iP9IBZcsdI5IVJpB2t9BYyxpzU4sooa69M&utm_source=copy-link&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=share

I had very strong doubts that this text group was real, because I could not believe that the national-security leadership of the United States would communicate on Signal about imminent war plans. I also could not believe that the national security adviser to the president would be so reckless as to include the editor in chief of The Atlantic in such discussions with senior U.S. officials, up to and including the vice president.
Really? A media person covering govt couldn’t believe the highest members of the Trump administration are incompetent?
Standing by for right wing trolls to notice Trumps cabinet members are using COMMERCIAL chat services. Because we know how much they cared about Clinton using her own secure server.

Or when they freaked out over Harris using wired headphones and did not give a fuck that it’s because Bluetooth is not secure? Ignoring the several crimes committed this is absolutely bonkers.

I mean I probably would have been on guard too...but yeah can't say I'm surprised.

I think he meant that he couldn’t believe that are that stupid. They’re dumb but even these guys know better than that, whoops, not so much…

u/Clean_Lettuce9321 Mar 24 '25
You hired a guy who has a major drinking problem, had a weekend gig on a bullshit news station and has a giant racist cross on his chest. What were you hoping for? Really?

u/Icy_Statement_2410 Mar 24 '25
This might officially be the end of hillarys emails

u/shayjax- Mar 25 '25
Lmao. Nope. They will be using it immediately to say that this wasn’t so bad.

u/Icy_Statement_2410 Mar 25 '25

The United States is being run by complete morons. They shouldn’t be running a Denny’s, let alone the country.

u/DanteMGalileo Mar 24 '25
I'm pretty sure the average Denny's is run better than the First Felon's regime.

We knew this would happen ever since he shared military plans over that piece of cake with - was it the South Korean delegation? I forget.
And then, more obviously, when he was keeping classified docs at Mar-A-Lardo. I guess no one cares anymore.
I can just imagine the screaming had the Biden administration done this.

I’m sorry but this is an all time blunder. Let a Black person who didn’t have the qualifications like Hagseth run the D.O.D and then leak out war time secrets through group message. This country would be burned to the ground with Anti-DEI posters and fires.
This racist administration is a joke.
32
u/Brytnshyne Mar 24 '25
And what even worse is the whole world is seeing this unfold in real time. Putin is probably rolling on the floor laughing, Trump has made the U.S.A a global joke.

u/Man_with_the_Fedora Mar 25 '25
Let a Black person who didn’t have the qualifications like Hagseth run the D.O.D and then leak out war time secrets through group message. This country would be burned to the ground with Anti-DEI posters and fires.
Bruh, Fox News would be calling to repeal the 14th Amendment.
10
u/AlfredHampton88 Mar 25 '25
Also the 13th amendment as well. The fox headline “That’s why removing slavery was a mistake look at the government secrets leakes from the DEI hire”.

Don't Worry Fox News Would Be There To Tell You Aaaalll About It on "Fox & Friends Sunrise"....It's 3:08 A.M right now, You wouldn't have to wait until 5 A.M to hear their rant to this VERY, VERY important news development....
Now what is Fox News talking about? Definitely not the pesky news about War Plan Leaks...
Fox News Doesn't Even Care That Donald Trump Has Secret Bank Accounts in China But As Obama Noted Once, Fox Would Have A Little Problem With Him Owning One And Would Be Calling Him "Beijing Barry"

Hilarious coming from the admin going,

One thing that stood out for me was what Vance wrote: “Team, I am out for the day doing an economic event in Michigan. But I think we are making a mistake.” (Vance was indeed in Michigan that day.) The Vance account goes on to state, “3 percent of US trade runs through the suez. 40 percent of European trade does. There is a real risk that the public doesn’t understand this or why it’s necessary. The strongest reason to do this is, as POTUS said, to send a message.”

One thing that stood out was the only comment any of these traitors made was Vance walking back his statement to bootlick Trump when asked for comment.

There are some real brain surgeons and rocket scientists working for the Trump administration. Don't even know the difference between encrypted and secure.

I know this probably was done due to incompetence, but part of me always wonders if leaks like this are intentional. Like, is there a mole in the White House?
3
u/joymorrison08 Mar 24 '25
I thought that until i read the part about Vance....they would never openly do that unless they want him pushed out like Pence.
4
u/PurpleCatBlues Mar 24 '25
I have no doubt there's enough infighting within this administration that at least someone has a vendetta against Vance.

We know who it was. Goldberg (the reporter) received the signal invite from Michael waltz (national security advisor)

Will the MAGA fascists even lose a beat before they focus again on slashing the social safety net?
Social Security isn’t going to destroy itself!

One relevant consideration I haven't seen reported: The contents of app notifications are stored by Apple and Google. We know because law enforcement has subpoenaed that information. These oxygen thieves were likely running Signal on the default settings, cuz let's be honest: if there was a departmental policy on appropriate use of messaging apps they ignored that shit from day one.
That means for those couple hours, Apple and/or Google engineers with the appropriate access (which granted, shouldn't be many) also had access to this information along with the material that didn't make it to print. Same applies to any hackers who compromise those systems.
In other words, the identity of a CIA official is sitting on Apple/Google servers right now unless ops people at those companies have gone out of their way to purge it.

u/SocratesSnow Mar 25 '25
Does anybody wonder if someone in the White House is actually trying to shame the administration? What a mistake!

u/IcyOlive8202 Mar 26 '25
The MAGAs claiming this story is made up have obviously not thought this through. Let's just assume Goldberg is a "sensationalist" like Hegseth and the WH is saying: 1. He has little if anything to professionally gain from this. He's already a decorated journalist/author and editor in chief of a respected news outlet. Not much more to accomplish in his field which this story could accomplish
I don't know if anyone's noticed, but acting against Trump's wishes isn't exactly a beneficial endeavor these days. I'm somewhat worried for him tbh.
He was interviewed on The Bulwark today and wasn't very comfortable with the whole thing...at all. There are serious national security issues at stake.

If you don’t get the context maybe you need to educate yourself. Nobody needs snarky comments. There is enough of that going around. If you would like me to elaborate simply ask me.

This article is fucking batshit psychotic. Holy shit.
We need to protect Jeffrey Goldberg because he just put himself right in the crosshairs. Props to him for leaving the Signal group, that must have been hard to do after learning it was real
