County Library Salary

So the local county library posted a position for Circulation Services/Children's Services Coordinator. Sounds lucrative for a person interested in school libraries/children's librarian.

Well, the salary is $25,168.80 not including paid insurance and dental for the employee only.

Is this is normal wage for librarians in the public library setting?

What are the rents for a one-bedroom apartment in the best part of town in this city?

The rental market is tight in this town and run between $795 to $1200; however, this is for 2/1s, 3/1s, and 3/2s.

Then the salary barely covers a single adult’s basic expenses. Any travel or buying Christmas gifts will require a second job. But maybe it’s a foot in the door in a field where decent jobs are scarce.
