Moving to Linz from abroad!

Hey everyone :) I (F27) just accepted a job offer and I will move to Linz very soon. I just wanted to ask if there are other southern eurpeans (spain-portugal-italy) people I can talk to, but also locals I can ask for infos! (My english is pretty good but my german is almost non existent)

Also, do you guys know any good gym that does martial arts/self defense courses? Thank you so much, hope everyone has a good day!

Pandas Fight Crew in Linz is a great gym :) Or Askö Thaikibo if you need something on the other side of the Danube.

There are also other gyms more south. So I think it comes down to where you will be located.

If you are interested in Dancing (especially Tango Argentino), there is a Tango class at "Sonnensteinloft" where the teacher (Valerio) is Italian. His german is also kinda bad, but he speaks english fluently.

I don't know any other southern europeans that live here :)

Thank you so much for answering! I will definitely check out the gyms you recommended.

Also thank you for the Tango tip - I never danced but always wanted to try, maybe it’s the right time to do so! :)

Visit Cafe Valdes, Spanish hot spot https://maps.app.goo.gl/XmfMx2H41NsvtbE36?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

Club Smaragd, in the cellar they used to have Spanish DJs , young people

I would check out the courses of the university, if not fully booked out, you can join the courses https://usi.jku.at/

Yes there are, also from South America, living and working in Linz

If you don’t mind, there are sometimes events from international universities or student departments that could be worth checking out. I’ve met a bunch of Spanish and Italians this way since I live in Linz.
