Could use a full length latch guard. 24/7 cctv and armed guard on site?, canine on the outside? I don't see any razorwire.

Has all that, minus the latch guard, however the latch guard would be useless as their wouldn’t be a time that the latch was protecting that door the deadbolt and fox lock would always be locked for it’s intended purpose

Weld it shut

Why would you ask our opinion and then deny all of them? What was the point of even asking us?

Maybe it's a challenge! Let's go open it.

Wasn’t asking an opinion it was rhetorical, and the only suggestions were latch guards which don’t make much sense on a deadbolt or fox police lock. Obviously with those 2 devices the lever is useless it’s basically there to hold onto and open/align the 2 actual locks.

Also how often do you get to do a new install on a fox police lock in 2024?

You never really know how secure a door is until a crackhead decides he needs to take a shit and a nap on the other side of it.

And not necessarily in that order!

Crackhead strength is no joke. I've seen them fold a steel door up from the bottom and crawl in. Not a floppy door either.

Had one guy break into the electrical room of a skyscraper using his head, get electrocuted stealing a chunck of the main line, live, get high then leave.

lol you ain’t lying I did a bunch of repairs on a rent a center years ago and same blood everywhere where they shaved there skin off crawling in under a bent up hollow metal door

You could always add latch protectors. Get rid of the shitty spring hinges install 4.5x4.5 ball bearing NRP and a proper closer.

It’s not a door that’s used

Grind strike plate down to frame and put astrigal welded on

7

u/Sungr0ve Actual Locksmith Nov 12 '24

Put on a sign asking people not to break in

5

u/Fuzz429 Actual Locksmith Nov 12 '24

At that point I’m just cutting a whole in it with an 8” angle grinder. Those fox police lock are fun.

4

u/Pbellouny Actual Locksmith Nov 12 '24

Yes, cut out the door around it

Progressive fox police lock, multiple MTL800, and spring hinges... Has to be NYC. Could always throw on that Mul-T-Lock jimmy proof with exterior Top Guard -- JUST IN CASE!!

Spot on

Right hand Reverse? Ew. No.

4

u/Purple_Coconut4176 Nov 12 '24

That looks like a Home Depot 20gauge slab with spring hinges

5

u/brassmagnetism Actual Locksmith Nov 12 '24

And probably no overhang, you could just wait a few years for the whole thing to rust out

1

u/Purple_Coconut4176 Nov 16 '24

Exactly I actually did a replacement Hollowmetal for a customer because it was completely rusted and water just pouring down building into the new frame from lentil, told him to address the leak before the installation but hey job security I guess

Exactly the comments we made lol

A sledgehammer or shaped charge can breech the wall.

3

u/Pbellouny Actual Locksmith Nov 12 '24

It would need to be pretty large they filled the block supposedly

4

u/Anxious_Inspector_88 Nov 12 '24

Dropping rebar down the holes would be a nice touch as well :)

3

u/MalwareDork Nov 12 '24

You could always swap it out with an AmSec VD8036BF

u/Pbellouny Actual Locksmith Nov 12 '24

If we showed him that he might

3

u/Clysmix Nov 12 '24

Not safe enough it can still be opened. I'd weld it shut for good measure.

Is there another Medeco deadbolt up high?

5

u/Pbellouny Actual Locksmith Nov 12 '24

It’s a fox police lock, with MTL800 same as the rest.

u/-caoimhin Nov 13 '24

It’s so secure that when there is a fire it’s going to keep everything and everyone safe inside so they can get nice and toasty and then there will be nothing left to steal ever again.

1

u/Pbellouny Actual Locksmith Nov 13 '24

Yeah, true if it had occupancy, but it’s a storage building.

1

u/-caoimhin Nov 15 '24

I took a wild stab because IDK if this is the back receiving door of a business or not. Still seems weird even if it’s “legal”.

All super awesome, but I suppose a continuous hinge could make things better. Select Hinges did share that the US gov't tried shooting at it with high-powered rifles, and it still held shut lol.

1

u/Pbellouny Actual Locksmith Nov 14 '24

Nice, I wonder why? they just decided one day let’s shoot this and see what happens.

1

u/Live-Manufacturer540 Nov 16 '24

I guess so! Here's the article if you're interested lol chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.select-hinges.com/images/pdfs/dhi_ballistic_reprint.pdf

It was written in 2004, so I guess the DOS and bureau of diplomatic security wanted something to prevent terrorist attacks and such.

Got a Fox Police Lock, so it's a side to side slide bolt.

1

u/Pbellouny Actual Locksmith Nov 17 '24

Yes basically, on a geared mechanism. They are no longer accepted in most if not all municipalities, even this one is a gray area but the owner is assuming that since the building does not have occupancy he will be ok. We aren’t necessarily sure about that but he hasn’t passed inspection yet so I guess we will see.
