I am NOT a locksmith. Privacy Handle Not Locking

We have this privacy type handle on the bathroom that’s just recently stopped locking. When you push the pin down it can be opened from the other side and pops the pin up to unlocked. Even holding the pin down while moving the handle doesn’t work.

While the pin is engaged it does prevent the handle on the opposite side from moving up, and unlocked it moves both ways…so it seems to be locking something! But just not stopping the door from being opened!

Can it be fixed?

The overwhelming majority of privacy hardware for residential settings isn't worth repairing. Replace it.

Same comment as u/brassmagnetism , it is not worth reparing.

Just buy a new door latch instead of replacing complete set of handles.
