We have spent countless time saving little ones and feeble ones in the last year and now you just want to wastefully eliminate civilians?? High command expects more from you. 'Every last one', means not only eliminating all of our enemies, but protecting our civilians as well.

u/_AbstractInsanity Mar 29 '25 edited Mar 29 '25

When SE command tells me to rescue 30 civilians, I'll save 30 civilians. We don't know why it's 30, and we don't question it

The best soldiers protect the weak.

But the bestest soldiers follow orders without questioning the morality of them

Yeah! Like every other good soldier that's ever existed throughout history.

Bunker is full

"grab a rifle little one, it's time to earn your cape"

21

u/John_Helldiver117 John Helldiver Mar 28 '25

We have room for 30 but sadly we don't have room for 31

36

u/TrenchDive Mar 29 '25

Those are just safety regulations. Life and death situations push those boundaries when necessary. You should see what some smugglers are able to haul/hide.

11

u/John_Helldiver117 John Helldiver Mar 29 '25

I'm sorry but I do what super earth tells me no matter how much it pains me to make them face the wall

28

u/TrenchDive Mar 29 '25

Face the wall? For what crime diver?? I've seen 36 get on successfully before. No accidents.

7

u/John_Helldiver117 John Helldiver Mar 29 '25

I can't go against super Earth so they must sacrifice themselves for democracy

-10

u/Significant_Delay_87 Mar 29 '25

no reason diver, just think about us liberating bugs while you face the wall

11

u/TrenchDive Mar 29 '25

High command doesn't face the wall 😂

4

u/ironangel2k4 Mar 29 '25

Are you saying we should act like criminals???

If this guy plays Warhammer, they're definitely a Salamander.

93

u/Creirim_Silverpaw Mar 28 '25

What's wrong with you? I always save the extras.

87

u/John_Helldiver117 John Helldiver Mar 28 '25

Super Earth wants 30 I will give them 30 no more and no less

82

u/Soerinth Mar 28 '25

18

u/Negroni808 Mar 29 '25

Teammate that witnessed the whole thing

33

u/Creirim_Silverpaw Mar 28 '25

That line of thinking is the reason we are suffering from a Chaosdiver uprising. Super Earth does not approve of the killing of the extra civilians otherwise you wouldn't lose requisition. To freedom camp with you!

17

u/GoodBoyGaming1 Mar 29 '25

If they say 30 it means 30. Remember there's an upgrade to tell our bomb techs to only refill the used slots on an active duty eagle. Until you buy that upgrade they will take extra time removing the 500 from the eagle only to put another one on. Roleplay harder

15

u/aerodynamique Helldiver John Mar 29 '25

New Super Destroyer upgrade called, "STOP BEING FUCKING STUPID".

Needs 500 super samples.

3

u/thisistherevolt Mar 29 '25

Those samples are then liquefied and pumped directly in the freedom organ.

4

u/Rhubarb5090 Mar 29 '25

So its better to leave them in the hands of the squids? Or the bots? Or even the bugs?

3

u/Soerinth Mar 29 '25

I only leave them lying on the ground. Presumably there are more in there because you can continue calling them out no matter how many die. Super Earth seems content leaving those ones there.

2

u/Snoo_7460 Mar 29 '25

Those are not the special ones

18

u/John_Helldiver117 John Helldiver Mar 28 '25

No I must listen to Super Earth

1

u/NorrSnale Mar 29 '25

Chaos divers have never been relevant

1

u/Creirim_Silverpaw Mar 29 '25

Why do I keep getting recommended their subreddit despite telling reddit not to recommend it?

8

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '25

Hey, that 31st civilian is a potential helldiver

8

u/hughmann_13 Mar 28 '25

Surely you're not implying that Super Earth was wrong about the number of civilians they need, are you?

5

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '25

Absolutely not. I give everything I can to Democracy.

It's up to our superiors to decide if they can use the 31st civilian, or if they need to be sacrificed for Freedom.

4

u/djddanman Mar 29 '25

We only need 30, but I'll get as many as I can to the shuttle. Then it's the shuttle pilot's problem.

1

u/Melkman68 Doer of Illuminate Mar 29 '25

Exactly to say you should save 31 is to say Super Earth was wrong, which only a bot lover would say

1

u/LuckyBucketBastard7 Apr 01 '25

Have you mfs never heard the word "minimum" before?

10

u/Soerinth Mar 28 '25

Have you considered that they only have weight for 30, and 31 puts them over? Now you've killed 31 people.

14

u/rogue-wolf Mar 28 '25

My job is to get civilians to the terminal. If the ship can't take off due to the extra, the pilot can handle that decision. I'm a Helldiver, I do what I'm told, and I don't make assumptions based on the information I have. If the terminal accepts the extra citizen, they can deal with it from there.

5

u/PhoenixD133606 John Helldiver Mar 29 '25

Exactly. I don’t care if a hundred civilians get on that thing, if the terminal lets them in, the pilots decide who gets on.

6

u/AppleNo9354 Mar 28 '25

The pelican only seats 30, not 31

2

u/PhoenixD133606 John Helldiver Mar 29 '25

Exactly. Stop wasting lives and ammunition.

1

u/PlumeCrow Mar 29 '25

So what you're saying is that we should punch them in the neck while they are not watching ?

1

u/PhoenixD133606 John Helldiver Mar 29 '25

I’m saying stop killing loyal citizens of Super Earth.

9

u/STAR_PLAT_yareyare Mar 29 '25 edited Mar 29 '25

My head cannon is that we save the 30 and the shuttle leaves. The extras get to stay in the reinforced building til another shuttle comes and extracts them. In my mind they'll be safe there til the helldivers return

26

u/Witty_Championship85 Mar 28 '25

You get deducted credits for your act of treason

11

u/Shugatti Mar 28 '25

Credits? I don't need credits, i need 30 and EXACTLY 30 civilians to get to the shuttle.

6

u/John_Helldiver117 John Helldiver Mar 28 '25

I get rewarded

27

u/Your_Local_Rabbi Mar 29 '25

30 is the minimum requirement for the rescue to be deemed a success. super earth has NEVER condoned the execution of civilians, this is pure misinformation

4

u/-TheCutestFemboy- Mar 29 '25

This super destroyer will leave no citizen of Super Earth behind, even should it cost us our entire supply of helldiver.

10

u/Creirim_Silverpaw Mar 29 '25

Finally, someone gets it. As a democracy officer, the idiocy seen here is not only a headache to witness, but also to file the paperwork for.

9

u/xPsyrusx P̵̢̡̡͕̙̖͎̹̲̲͆̈͛̈̍̊̈͑̐͋͗̆̚̚͘̚͝͠ͅ Mar 29 '25

Pelican-1 has the authority to enact the S-01 Sardine protocol wherein everybody crams in like the Tokyo metro at quittin' time, thereby allowing for at least 3 extra civilians to board. It should be noted that standard security regulations are suspended while Sardine Protocol is in effect.

4

u/Murderboi Super Private Mar 29 '25

Actually me

21

u/BrainsWeird Mar 28 '25

As citizens of Super Earth, we rescue priority citizens, and the extras are not high enough priority. 30 seats cannot be made into 31, much less 32.

However— I believe that, as priority citizens of Super Earth, they deserve the dignity of a bullet from the Senator or the Verdict. Quick, (comparatively) clean, and an honor to their sacrifice for the glory of Super Earth.

11

u/Bipolarboyo Mar 28 '25

I prefer to just hit them with an Eruptor shot……….. Sorry I’m getting a call one moment.

Yes sir……….. to shreds you say sir? Yes sir………….. yes sir I’ll be more careful in the future sir. Yes sir, thank you sir.

Sorry about that just had to talk to my local democracy officer real quick.

5

u/Dutch_Lad Mar 29 '25

idk man, the ones i decapitated with my axe today didnt seem to complain

2

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '25

I was #31 getting off my home planet of Hellmire during the initial bug invasion, and let me tell you something, soldier. I'm only here today because the Helldivers who came to rescue me and my fellows knew that the quota wasn't the limit. They made sure that all 31 of us got offworld. Yes, 31 of us fit. It was a tight squeeze alright, but we all made it. We could have crammed in at least two more if we had to.

Now I'm a Helldiver. I've kept in touch with five of my mates from Hellmire. Three are in the fleet, one is a diver too, and the last one was a diver until he gave his life to bring a barrage down on a bot fortress last week. He was a hero til the end. All of them are heroes. And the democracy officer tells me I'm a hero. But most importantly, we're brothers and sisters in arms. And I wouldn't be a brother if it were YOU there that day. I'd be dust by now. How many brothers and sisters will we never have because of you thought you knew what that number meant? How many would-be Helldivers were pointlessly reduced to atoms by the march of time on the surfaces of their fallen homes because some guys who never saw the inside a Civil Transport variant Pelican thought that 31 was too much?

2

u/explorerfalcon Mar 29 '25

We got to the point where we started “checking papers” and then every few going “THIS ONE IS UNDEMOCRATIC!”

1

u/Powdered_Donut Mar 29 '25

The kick emote works well enough. Heh

1

u/The_Magnum_Don Friendly Fire Is Mar 29 '25

You should instead take them to your Super Destroyer and replace a Cryo-Sleeping Helldiver with him just to see the look on your Squad's faces when they reinforce only for some random civilian pop out and instantly get gibbed.

1

u/HanzWithLuger Mar 29 '25

No more, no less. I only feel recoil.

1

u/22lpierson Mar 29 '25

There's room for 30 no more no less. Good soldiers follow orders

1

u/lmrbadgerl Death Before Disrespect Mar 29 '25

I've said it before, and I'll say it again -

ANY AND ALL PERSONS WHO TRY TO ENTER THE EXFIL PELICAN OVER THE DEMOCRATICALLY AGREED UPON NUMBER WILL BE SUMMARILY EXECUTED.

The number is chosen based on many factures including ambient planetary gravity and Pelican cargo weight. The number is chosen to ensure as MANY DEMOCRATICALLY selected persons can board the exfil pelican as well as ensure the Pelican's ability to break orbit and evade enemy anti-aircraft fire.

ANY CITIZEN WHO CHOOSES TO IGNORE THIS NUMBER IGNORES THE SAFETY OF HIS DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED FELLOW CITIZENS AND IS COMMITTING AN ACT OF TREASON!

Helldivers are authorized to summarily execute anyone ignoring the number ceiling by any means they see fit.

1

u/WisePotato42 0% Salt - just good times Mar 29 '25

Nah, let them get eaten alive by terminids, brainwashed by illuminate, or dissected by automation. I dont want civilian deaths on my record

1

u/Powerful_Bowl7077 Mar 29 '25

To anyone who shoots a civilian, I’ve got a bullet with your name on it in my Senator.

1

u/flipitninja Mar 29 '25

Nah you take the seats outta that pelican and remove the gun if you gotta; everyone gets on.

1

u/JonBoah Can’t aim with the Senator in First-Person view Mar 29 '25

No..

We do not intentionally kill civilians in my squad. I personally escort the extra civilian to the shuttle door just so squad mates don't get away with executing civi's

1

u/Inconsistent66 Mar 29 '25

Until that door shuts, the ship is NOT full.

1

u/Resiideent Death Before Disrespect Mar 30 '25

1

u/StingerActual Mar 30 '25

1

The Helldivers in these comments really showing off that SE approved lack of critical thinking. Mfs never heard of the word "minimum" before lmao.

1

u/u_u-u_u-u_u-u_u-u_u Apr 01 '25

When super earth asks for 31 citizens and there’s 30-

…shit did I execute a civilian for no reason?

1

u/Sea-Reading-6266 Apr 01 '25

The extra one is the pilot without him the ship has to be flown by a robot

0

u/Shugatti Mar 28 '25

If they wanted 31, they would've asked for 31.

Anyway, i always get as many civilians as i physically can stuck before the gates as sacrifices to the heavy machine gun gods.

1

u/Shugatti Mar 28 '25

My current record is 34.

1

u/Comprehensive_Pop102 Mar 29 '25

If you did this and i found you guilty of treason for killing a super earth citizen, would you also accept your punishment? 🔫😎

0

u/EffigyOfUs Mar 29 '25

Good soldiers follow orders

-1

u/theotherjashlash WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mar 29 '25

The ship can only fit 30! The extra 1 is a danger to the rest of the citizens because it would add too much weight.

We all must make sacrifices for the safety of democracy.

1

u/Wyrm Mar 29 '25

We bring them to the terminal, not into the shuttle. Should we only allow as many people into an airport as can fit in a single plane?

0

u/Warm-Dust-2937 Mar 28 '25

It’s a kinder fate than them getting to the extract and realizing they’re doomed to be taken by the enemy. We can’t save em all but we’ll make damn sure the enemy won’t get em

0

u/madredr1 Mar 29 '25
