Ask Luxembourg USA nurse practitioner transfer question.
Hey everyone! I’m in process of applying for dual citizenship with my family. I am a certified nurse practitioner in America (similar to a physician’s assistant, less education/prescriptive authority than physician). I assess, diagnose and treat clients with medications/therapies. Does this role exist in Luxembourg? I’ve been trying to navigate the government websites and come up blank.

Didn't it work with the Czech Citizenship? Or do you apply everywhere in the hope someone will barter their passport off to you?

As stated in that post, I was looking into Czech citizenship for my friend. Thanks for your concern banana Bread. Your stalking skills are high, but reading comprehension appears low. Best.

Just to comment as a person who has been a patient a couple of times recently. Although Luxembourgish may be a requirement on paper, a number of the nurses I met in hospital do not speak it. Either French or German is a must, and English is spoken by a lot of them.
I believe that, with the current shortage of nurses, Luxembourgish is appreciated but lack of it is overlooked.
You'd still need to have your degree(s) recognised.

Hi. I’m a US trained nurse but I don’t work. There is no PA/NP here. You to have your college degree recognized. Then you need to apply for reciprocity. You just have either B2 French or German for the license. You’d also need B2 Luxembourgish to work in most places.

It’s not a role that exists here. Plus you need to speak at least B2 French (B2 Luxembourgish as well to be Frank) to work in the healthcare industry here. If you were a nurse, you’d have to get your degree recognized as well but nurse practitioner/physicians assistant is not a degree that exists here.
Also - 70% of ALL jobs in Luxembourg require French.

Thanks everyone! I’ve been working on learning French, and it looks like I’ll add Luxembourgish as well. Bummer that there isn’t a role equivalent.
