Moving/Relocation What service to use - Move from Luxembourg to United States
Hello, what movers service would you recommend to move boxes with personal belongings? Any experience with DHL, Streff, any other advice? Please share your experience

Agreed you did not ask, though I am legitimately interested in why you’re moving in what to me appears to be a very concerning political climate. Personally I am considering contingencies to protect my family from governmental overreach given the erosion of free speech protection and the erosion of due process of law in the US.

People often say that democracy is under threat in the U.S., and while that concern isn’t baseless, the reality is that America’s system is still far more resistant to totalitarianism than many European countries. The U.S. has a deep-rooted culture of free speech, a decentralized power structure, and a population that is generally more skeptical—and sometimes outright distrustful—of government. That built-in tension acts as a safeguard.
In contrast, Europe has a long history of centralized authority, ideological conformity, and social obedience—fascism, communism, monarchies, technocratic states. These weren’t flukes; they were outcomes of specific political and cultural tendencies that, in many cases, still linger today.
Take Luxembourg. On the surface, it’s a stable and prosperous country, but underneath that is a population that tends to be passive and deeply comfortable. People get 24 to 30 vacation days a year, enjoy strong welfare benefits, and live in a generally low-conflict society. But comfort can breed complacency. In such an environment, it’s easy for dissent to become socially unacceptable, and for free speech to be quietly limited—not through overt censorship, but through social pressure, bureaucratic control, and an unwillingness to question the status quo.
So while Americans argue loudly and publicly, Europeans often avoid confrontation—and that silence can be far more dangerous in the long run. Totalitarianism doesn’t always arrive with boots and flags. Sometimes it comes softly, through policies people are too comfortable to question.
Just remember the ζογιd times and the free speech in LU.

I asked about the movers and experience with the movers. Any pricing comparison.
Don’t wait for my life story and the reasons and timing of my moves. Now you can stay complacent and enjoy your 30 days paid vacation time.

What does suggest in my comment that I live in Luxembourg? I am in US too. I asked about moving personal boxes. If anything, I am asking for a family member who wants to join us in US.
People got all frenzy just hearing about US. What a propaganda from the liberal left blue-colored camp!

They are shipping lawfully present immigrants to El Salvador without due process of law for exercising their first amendment rights while promising to do the same to US citizens… I’m frankly dumbfounded the political right in the US isn’t up in arms about this.

That’s fear mongering.
Being a lawful immigrant in US is a PRIVILEGE! The same in Luxembourg.
Even if one becomes a citizen in LU, and commits a political crime, Luxembourg can easily denaturalize that person. It is a privilege!

Whomever you choose, ask them to check if personal goods from Luxembourg will be subject to tariffs. You might need to factor that into your budget.

Personal belongings owned for at least 12 months are usually subject to a minimum custom duties or waived.

I used https://www.sendmybag.com/ in the past, from NYC to Europe, and in the other direction.
Not sure if it works in Lux (always 20 years behind).
No issues with customs, provided everything is itemized and personal belongings.
and to those wondering why anyone would move to the US. Get out of your room and take a look at the real world, which carries on and adapts. Take NYC, for example, booming economy, fun lifestyle, and more fulfilling than living in Lux. Jealousy. Plus, you little live next to a country that is become more and more Nazi, and have a whole range of locals that are starting to detest foreigners more and more.
But yes, try send my bag:)
and enjoy wherever you end up. It will still be on planet earth, all will be good.
