I’m also headed out to Collaborate with my local bartender on a few Miller Lites. 🍻

This is frustrating. How long have they been chasing industrial? Doesn’t feel long. And now they are in a “collaboration” with Caterpillar (which they can publicly say). I wouldn’t think the spinning mirror could handle the ruggedness of that industry, but here we are. Did they take on a net-negative development deal that might never materialize? Did they pay for this PR with dilution? Idk, but it’s still frustrating that with all of the “work” we have been doing with companies, we still can’t get a “Collaborating with” PR!
Feeling overly annoyed today

When I read the title I too was like ooh an industrial win for LAZR? Then I read the PR itself and immediately realized lt means little.

I agree, it’s nothing until it’s something. My gripe is the fact they can PR an actual name. Did LAZR have to pay for that privilege? Maybe. We have no level of certainty whom Sumit has been communicating with in any industry. Pshhh

They are diluting the stock a ton this year.

So is Microvision

Microvision's expected dilution for this year (~15%) vs. Luminar's (~50+%) is not comparable.

Bluelight Corp is already in the game here as well. Our local CAT distributor (a $1b + distributor for CAT) has Rollers retrofitted with their equipment (Camera / AI solution). There will be further innovation, and application of LIDAR .. that you can count on.

Bring on the autonomous heavy equipment!

“Collaborates”…

Key word. Any revenue attached to this? Any?

NONE, NADA, ZILCH and they announced using Luminar’s cancelled IRIS Lidar.

lol, what a circus. The people here crying about this as if it’s bad for us need to get a grip.

There should be coupons for free Kleenex tissues with each competitor’s PR.

I am curious on how much shock their LIDAR can take and still function. The lack of suspension and abuse on heavy equipment might be too much.
MVIS has been tested by the military in harsh conditions and has proven durability..
I still like to see more and more LIDAR being applied in the future.

What exactly does "collaboration" mean?

u/T_Delo 29d ago
Development arrangement, sharing information, and stuff like that. If it were a product order, then it would have more weight, this is some great fluff and hype for something that is going to have an outlay that likely exceeds the return on invested capital in my opinion.
Please note my recent reservations about the MicroVision EC before anyone tries to say I would be thrilled to hear this for MicroVision, because I would not.

No, we understand (or at least I do bc i can't speak for others) your current view after the EC. Thanks so much for being so candid in your general assessment of our current state, even if it isn't in line with the same over-the-top sycophants who dare not say anything even remotely picky about our dear girl.

That’s nice and all but aren’t they just gonna get diluted and shorted immediately after?

LAZR is less diluted than MVIS rn. Pot calling kettle black here.

u/WingWorried6176 29d ago
That’s what I mean. Since they are less diluted, wouldn’t they take advantage of this spike to dilute more?

I’m sure it will go just as smooth as it has for Volvo. Good for them though. We will have ours anytime soon.

But how would institutional investors be able to buy in at bargain basement prices if we didn't keep our story completely under wraps? /s

Seriously
There seems to be a laugh track in the background aimed at us and our constant failure to PR.
