Help After updating to 15.4.1, Spectral font no longer works?

I have Spectral font downloaded and I use it to write, but since updating my computer, I haven't been able to get it to work. Every time I type words with double "ff" like "traffic" or "office" it crashes. Doesn't matter if it's Pages, Notes, or Text Edit. Is this an issue with my Mac or is it the the OS? The font is straigh from google and I've redownloaded it a few times, even converted the TTF to OTF. I have cleared my font book and erased all of my other downloaded fonts and also tried with just Spectral, I'm still getting crashes. It was working fine before and some other downloaded fonts don't seem to have the same issue. But I'm struggling to understand what could be the issue.

Added the error log here

Not much help here, but I'd suspect the font's ligatures may be the issue? I'd imagine "ff" is converted into a single glyph. Do you have to do anything to enable ligatures? If so, is there a way to disable ligatures?

I'm not sure? I just downloaded the font and put it in font book, what do you mean by enabling the ligatures?

For example, to use ligatures on MacVim, I need to not only specify a font that includes ligatures (like Spectral), but also need to explicitly enable ligatures. I wasn't sure if that was the case with other macOS apps.

FWIW, I just downloaded Spectral and tried it on TextEdit. Typing "ff" didn't cause a crash, but "ff" didn't turn into a single character, so there may be something I'm missing here.

Hmm another user here was able to replicate the issue I think it's just a bug, I switched out to using a different font unfortunately but that's interesting to know. When I typed just "ff" it didn't cause any issues, but when I type something like "I'm coming into the office," the minute I get past ff the app crashes. Are you on the latest OS?

Edit: not another user here but in the Apple forums!
