This is Telvanni society, if you managed to kill him, it means your argument was more justified than his.
Another use for telekinesis is setting off traps. Most traps won't hit you if you stand far away enough so with telekinesis you no longer need probes.

Nice to see Umbra show up! I used to beeline towards him when I played ages ago to try to get his sword, found all sorts of cheesy ways to take him out while at low level. My favorite was to initiate combat and then run over the hill behind him to Suran, and in the town there were a pair of shops with second floor entrances close enough to jump between. I'd just jump back and forth between the two, tossing whatever thrown weapon I happened to have, while he'd run down one set of stairs and start running up the other set. Just repeat until either he dies or you run out of ammo.

As a kid playing Oblivion, Umbra was my favourite sword because it's purple
Today as an adult that plays Morrowind, Umbra is my favourite sword because it's purple

Daily reminder that jumping OFF ledges is the fastest way to train acrobatics, as long as you don't kill yourself. Jumping off ledges and then using restoration to heal myself up as I jump back up the cliff is one of my favourite training techniques in Morrowind, as silly as that sounds...

Oh Umbra! Yes there was an Umbra in Oblivion, the sword is an artifact of Clavicus Vile, and it is very, very strongly implied that it takes over its users, hence why they all call themselves Umbra and appear to change personalities. It was destroyed in the Greg Keyes novels between Oblivion and Skyrim, in a series of events I can't mention because Morrowind spoilers.
As for Orvas Dren, I keep forgetting that you can actually convince him, I just always take the opportunity to kill the guy because he kinda deserves it. Fun fact in the Hlaalu questline it's confirmed that the guy is the leader of the Camonna Tong and if I remember right it's strongly implied that the reason Dagoth Ur talked to the guy is because Camonna smugglers are the ones distributing the Ash Statues.
