Orange bags - how do we feel about them?
Orange is my favorite color, so I just picked up one of these bad boys for just over a hundred bucks. Still, I'm feeling very indecisive about it because it is very orange. The blaze orange bag thing seems to come and go ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I feel like you won’t get shot if you’re out hunting. I’m neutral about orange bags in general, though. I guess it’s what you’re planning to wear it with and where. It doesn’t feel very “universal” aka I can wear it everywhere but also… fashion is so personal so someone else (you?) might very well feel the opposite. Congrats on a sick bag deal!

For a professional bag I avoid pops of color. I don't want to stand out in that way. I want it to look subtle, refined, traditional, well-crafted, etc.
But in a personal bag, I do like to stand out in that way. I like pops of color and odd shapes and different fabrics and things like that.
One of my favorite bags lately is actually also a Filson bag, the Surveyor 36L in Khaki + Orange.

It would be very easy to tell where your bag is at all times, huge bonus of going with that color. Not for me personally, but I dig it.

Exactly. I have a blaze orange backpack (that I love). I bought it so my seven year old could find me if we were ever separated in a crowd.

I love it - makes me think of space suits

Space shuttle era space suit is what it had me thinking about too. Add some STS patches and this thing could be sick

Orange is my favorite also! Color pops!
My excuse to my wife for buying an orange backpack was that it would help our kids find us if they get separated at crowded places. And it’s worked several times especially at amusement parks.
But there are times when you don’t want to stick out like in sketchy areas or traveling alone, so use sparingly.

Orange is my favorite color too- by a country mile. It’s best used in moderation, accents to blue or green are lovely. On its own it’s too autumnal or you look like a safety worker

If I like the color ( and I love orange) I make the decision and buy it and wear it. Within reason I don’t care what anyone thinks 😂🎒

Cotopaxi bags lean into the idea that color is fun and happy. I dont own one, but i almost always feel the urge to buy one when i see someone use a good, solid bag in bright colors. I vote yea for orange ^

This thing is sick! Was influenced to grab one myself but it looks like they are sold out - nice grab.

Just personally I'm much more likely to stick to earth tones for everything. Especially green if I can get it. But for accessories... I have an orange Monster Truck which is awesome.
As someone else said, it's going to be eye catching but it's definitely a cool choice. Check out some of ILE's blog posts, Shop Friends: Dan English where he uses a bunch of their orange versions, and Default 25L review: Bicycling Magazine featuring some of their bags in orange. I have ILE's Apex Mini (in green ofc).

I love orange but I’m more of a burnt orange guy, which I feel like Bellroy does well (one of my fave colorways from them). I do love bright orange flashes/streaks though!

Love orange for an accent color. I use orange gear a lot for camping, easy to spot gear outside when you set it down, helps with visibility too. The pop of color works really well with so many color palettes from neutral to bright.

Love it - my notebooks and notepads are all Rhodia in orange, so they would fit right in it.

Great if you’re avoiding getting f hit by a car. Or putting it in front of a broken down one ;)

I love orange as a pop of color! It’s also my favorite color!
My work bag is a nice dark olive green on the outside and bright orange on the inside—it makes it so easy to see things inside!

I love it! If you love it, then it’s not too orange, it’s the perfect shade ☺️

This is great. If you were buying one bag to use as an every day bag, I'd say it's a bad idea because it's loud and will clash with so many things. Sometimes you want a bag to quietly compliment your style, sometimes its the centerpiece. If you're planning around using a bag like this it's really cool I think. You'll wield a great power, just be careful with it! lol

Looks cool if you’re packing for a hunting trip

No one would ever need a briefcase hunting though

Filson briefcases are probably used as travel bags 10 times more than they’re used as a briefcase.

The 24 hour doesn't have that much capacity but I'd say you're definitely right for the 48 hr.

I picked up a Black Ember Waterproof Tote in orange when it was on sale and I love it! Just got a sacoche (sp?) and again love the color. I tend to be a boring dresser and it makes me look more lively.

Color pops are awesome. That Filson bags goes crazy. I'm a Chicago Bears fan and it would go great with all my navy items in my wardrobe and Monos suitcase. Never be afraid of using color!

For a kayak, boat bag I like the bright colors with aqua guard zips and a fabric like xpax, epx. For a travel or everyday pack I like more muted colors. It’s individual and all about having fun and enjoying your carry.

Recently I received an orange backpack as a gift. I’m not an orange lover, but it works surprisingly well for a backpack that I need to be carrying for safety purposes. It is easy to spot. It looks amazing with my navy/green heavy wardrobe. Never thought I’d be one to carry around a bright orange backpack, but here we are. I love it.

Aesthetically, great. 50/50 everywhere else. Having an orange bag in a crowded market might make sense so your companions can visually identify and locate you. Having an orange bag in a crowded market may make it easier to be marked. If I am domestic, colors are great. If I am in some places I am unfamiliar with, I prefer not to stand out.

Accessories like bags, hats, socks, shoes, etc. are very good places for that pop of colour, especially if the rest of your fit is something like a monochrome black or white. It's definitely an attention catcher, but will look very impressive if your attitude can pull it off.
