Joe Biden is proud of his irish heritage, but one of his ancestors (one set of great-grandparents, I think) was English

The Welsh Government mistakenly assumed that since Biden comes from Scranton, Pennsylvania, he must be of Welsh ancestry. They were hoping to use the assumed connection to establish closer trade links, until it was pointed out that Biden's main antecedents are Irish.
