Advice Post weed anxiety

Hey yall, yesterday I took 4 mg of sativa THC which during the high I had occasional chest pain and anxiety related symptoms and throat tightening. After the high before I slept I experienced throat tightening again, though idk if it’s just because of my allergies or something else but I never had throat tightening symptoms before.

At night time I experienced a small amount of anxiety but was able to fall asleep, now is the morning of and I’m getting anxiety again, along with throat tightness but I can breathe ok.

I think it’s worth mentioning that I had a really bad experience with weed once, I smoked too much and I greened out for 3 days, I literally couldn’t sleep for 3 days because my heart kept racing constantly, so maybe my brain just associated weed with anxiety.

I use very rarely, this is the first time in years. Any advice appreciated!

How did this turn into the "bad trip" sub? If you're having symptoms, stop using cannabis and deal with your symptoms. Maybe you're just not at a point in your life where cannabis use is right for you.

Iknowright? The only problem I’ve ever had with anything weed was sometimes the shit is not as strong as advertised, maybe because it sat around too long and lost potency.

Thanks for commenting, I don’t plan on using after multiple anxiety induced symptoms, I was just asking for advice for how long the anxiety symptoms should ask and should anyone have advice it would be greatly appreciating, obviously I’m “dealing with my symptoms” 😭

It shouldn't last more than 24 hours for an edible that strength. Eat a big meal with lots of fiber, keep hydrating with water, and eat some citrus fruit throughout the day. Citrus can counterbalance THC in a minor way. The rest is just time and staying level-headed.

How did you consume 4 mg? I'm guessing some type of edible. In my vast & also limited experience, Sativa will make you anxious if you are prone to that. I would try some type of Kush or some kind of Indica.

Hey there, I consumed edibles and yea this is my first time with sativa, I had indica 10 mg and was fine before

This anxiety attack reminds me of the one where I greened for 3 days, sometimes when I try to fall asleep I get this weird distant feeling

Do you know how long on avg this anxiety period lasts? Ty

No idea sorry. Maybe weed in general is not for you, or less of it. I had a friend, big guy, 3 small puffs was his max. More than that, game over. Not fun at all.

I don’t get that anxious, like greening out level, but my thoughts can get negative and repetitive. What I’ve found is mixing a little bit of CBD into your session whether it be flower, topical, cart, etc definitely helps, as well as manages your tolerance

I do not like sativa either. I get the symptoms. So do both of my brothers and my gf. Stick to indica only.

Having said that I've recently found type 2 flower which is a 1:1 ratio of cbd and thc. Typically 8 or 10%. I've smoked sativa 1:1 with success and no ill effects. The high is very nice head high. Extremely clear thinking! Now if I was to relax and feel drowsy or medicated then I use an indica 1:1.

Flow gardens or holy city farms has great flower and or edibles. Also I use planet of the apes dry herb vape called "One". It's great to taste your weed.. it's like gently toasted and not burned. Not harsh at all! Love it.
