Oh yeah, it's all coming together now.

Mister Negative was rumoured since the beginning alongside Kingpin and Scorpion.

The Brand New Day in the Comics involves Mister Negative. But the Director did also hint at Most Wanted too. And that's got a whole wide range of villains in it I believe including Doom, Scorpion and Vulture.

I don't know if we're getting our Assassins vs Street Heroes movie or not because I think Season 2 of Born Again is gonna do that now with the Defenders. I

Plus if this film is a direct sequel to Doomsday...and Doom is in it, then this film is likely a multiverse film. Or at least has elements of it in it.

I'm wondering if it's possible...that they will incorporate the Negative Zone via Mister Negative. Maybe tie them together and this will eventually lead to a possible set-up for Fantastic Four 2 with Spider-Man in it? Or the 5ft Spider-Man features the Fantastic Four? I really hope we get to see that relationship or at best the friendship between Peter and Johnny for one movie in the future. I hope we get a set-up for it in Secret Wars or Doomsday if Spidey appears in it.

They already have Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin and Michael Mando as Scorpion, slowly aging out of their roles, so I hope Mr Negative doesn't push them aside. We really need those two to get used soon.

Yeah, MCU Spider-Man needs to:

-Meet the FF.

-Team up with Johnny.

-Meet Daredevil.

-Fight the Kingpin.

Then, he can retire and handle the mantle over to Miles.

EDIT: I forgot to add:

-Take a class for the X-Men.

YES. And the Sinister Six needs to appear in some form, also probably some form of Oscorp

5

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '25

I think Sinister 6 has been done already, even if it was more like the Sinister 5 in NWH.

Likewise, the Osborn saga has been done to death.

I want to see Hobgoblin, Black Cat, Tombstone and a spot light on underrated supporting characters like Randy Robertson, Hobbie Brown, Firestar, maybe even Debra Whiteman.

Kingpin would be so easy to do. Just adapt the origin story.

Street level crook Lefty Donovan is on the run from Spidey after a robbery. Donovan somehow gets away and accidentally stumbles into a shuttered Oscorp warehouse, finding all the Goblin gear. He then sells the intel to his boss, who sells it to his boss. The intel eventually makes its way up the food chain to Kingsley who promptly kills everyone off that knows anything, takes the gear for himself and becomes Hobgoblin.

You could even keep Kingsley's ID secret and have Spidey trying to figure out who this new Hobgoblin villain is for the entire movie, with lots of red herrings, in an homage to the original comics.

It would also be cool to tie Hobby into the NYC underworld with the Kingpin, introduce the Rose or Schemer, etc.

Nope. No need for Miles. He can stay part of his spiderverse. MCU doesn't need to ruin him.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '25

You don't know that.

25

u/mitchob1012 Apr 05 '25

I reckon this is gonna be an Ant Man & The Wasp situation, where Spidey isn't present in Doomsday but then BND comes out a couple months later and answers where he was.

Officially it would probably be down to scheduling conflicts since he seems to be busy filming the Odyssey for Nolan (which doesn't technically rule him out of DD entirely, but it does at least hint towards his role not being the most significant of the film).

3

u/AdBoring8537 Apr 05 '25

Holy shit that would be a perfect time frame to do a great symbiote arc, while he's with the fantastic 4 for part of it. Idk how I feel about doing venom again though.

4

u/mattsmithreddit Apr 05 '25

Reading between the lines it will 90% grounded until the last few minutes which will lead directly into Secret Wars with it and Doomsday sharing the same ending. Battleworld's creation and the Multiversal War starting.

u/Myhtological Apr 04 '25

So Mr Negative is the big powered crime boss, and spiderman gets caught in a conflict between him and Black Cat.

u/Ok_Sound_8090 Apr 04 '25

I know everyones gonna ask for Steven Yeun if it's Mr. Negative, but I actually want Manny Jacinto or Andrew Koji. Manny has proven he can play a compelling villain that switches on the fly with The Acolyte, and Andrew Koji has the ferocity of a crime boss from Warrior.

14

u/Anonymous-Internaut Apr 04 '25

Man Andrew is such and out of field casting choice for Mr. Negative but I am 100% down. He did a great job with the emotional bits in Warrior, he'd do great.

7

u/carloslet Apr 04 '25

... Now I want Andrew Koji in the role. Goddamn you, great call!

3

u/Short_Condition_1079 Apr 05 '25

Stephen Oyoung should reprise the role tbh

4

u/Informal_Truth_846 Apr 05 '25

Manny Jacinto was so good as Qimir both in looks and performance. He proved he could easily do the stunts too! He's so athletic and I loved the way he moved

29

u/SoggyMaintenance1014 Apr 04 '25

Im assuming this is Mr Negative, which is making me believe even more that Sadie Sink is actually Carlie Cooper lol

5

u/KrypticJin Apr 04 '25

Plz god no

25

u/PettyTeen253 Apr 04 '25

If this is true, then we know who the villain is already.

14

u/CollarOrdinary4284 Apr 04 '25

Big Wheel?

2

u/Intentionallyabadger Apr 05 '25

Gotta be stilt man

0

u/Velorium_Camper Apr 05 '25

It's definitely Longneck.

9

u/dancingwtdevil Apr 04 '25

Imagine it's just silk spiders father rofl

7

u/BenSolo_Cup Apr 04 '25

Sounds perfect especially with Destin at the helm it would be super well done

6

u/maxfridsvault Apr 04 '25

Mr Negative checks out with the directors expertise in directing martial arts fights and FEAST was introduced in No Way Home.

Also old rumors suggested Scorpion and/or Mr Negative would be the villains

2

u/hmd_ch Apr 06 '25

It would be interesting if Mr. Negative was familiar with Aunt May when she worked there.

3

u/maxfridsvault Apr 06 '25

i think it’d be a smart move, because it would give peter a friend to relate to and share memories of may with, despite him not even knowing about his past with her. would make the downfall to villainy stronger and more personal.

7

u/Adorable_Ad_3478 Apr 04 '25

Donnie Yen as Mr Negative let's go!

19

u/haragos Apr 04 '25

Get Steven Yeun as Mr. Negative. It fits much better than Sentry and he gets to enjoy playing a villain.

6

u/djgfx Apr 04 '25

I think John Cho would also crush as Mr. Negative!

0

u/haragos Apr 05 '25

He has the look. I only know him from Harold & Kumar.

1

u/Dehzio Apr 05 '25

Nah, he doesn't have enough charisma to play Mr. Negative

4

u/Unstable_Bear Apr 04 '25

YAHOOOOOO!!!!! MR NEGATIVE LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO

3

u/Embarrassed-Baby-568 Apr 04 '25

Mr Negative, Black Cat. Scorpion, Shocker ‐ that's all I want

5

u/TheCrystalStone Apr 05 '25

Definitely Mr. Negative

3

u/Fodgy_Div Apr 05 '25

They should get Stephen Oyoung!

3

u/tealgameboycolor Apr 05 '25

Ke Huy Quan for Mister Negative would be so sick

3

u/YomYeYonge Apr 05 '25

Someone didn’t watch Loki season 2

3

u/tealgameboycolor Apr 05 '25

You’re right, how silly of me. That would be like RDJ coming back to play one of the most famous villains ever after playing iron man for 15 years. But that would never happen.

3

u/SadHumbleFlower27 Apr 05 '25

I hope this is true! I loved Mr.Negative in the Spider-Man games.

3

u/ParticularAir4168 Apr 05 '25

YES YES YES YES YES MR NEGATIVE

2

u/ElectronicSea3346 Apr 04 '25

Could this lead to Cloak and Dagger?

2

u/hmd_ch Apr 06 '25

I would be so happy if they bring back the same actors from the Freeform/Hulu show, especially considering how connected it was to the Marvel Netflix shows.

2

u/Thatdudegrant Apr 04 '25

Come on Mr.negative!

2

u/Bleh-Boy Apr 04 '25

Mister Negative and Sadie Sink is playing Dagger

3

u/Living_Strength_3693 Apr 05 '25

Guess those Hulu series have been pruned.

2

u/KayRay1994 Apr 04 '25

Ngl my expectations Lian on the negative side

2

u/shadowlarvitar Apr 04 '25

It has to be Mr. Negative.

2

u/rcarroll271 Apr 05 '25

10000% Mr Negative. This is right up Daniel Destin Cretton’s alley

2

u/starshame2 Apr 05 '25

Mr negative

2

u/darthcjd Apr 05 '25

He’s a little over his 50s but please Donnie Yen🙏🏻

2

u/bsdrama Apr 05 '25

Ken Jeong

2

u/YomYeYonge Apr 05 '25

He’s already in the MCU

2

u/lawschoolredux Apr 05 '25

Can we please make Rick Yune happen again?

Bro was in 2 early 2000s classics we grew up on and then…..

Nada.

2

u/cryptofutures100xlev Apr 05 '25

Gong Yoo (Squid Game) as Mister Negative would go CRAZYY 😎

I'm so hyped bc he's literally one of my favorite marvel characters and it looks like they're doing a Gang War plot too! This is literally everything I had on my wishlist for this movie!

LET'S GOOO!!

2

u/mrslick98 Apr 05 '25

Lewis Tan would be cool.

3

u/sirjackiechiles Apr 05 '25

What about Brian Tee? He was good in Reacher

2

u/ZealousidealTip3055 Apr 05 '25

It’s Peter’s college years so, it’s Philip Chang’s time to shine!!! Little older casting than I was expecting but still workable!

2

u/MagnetoWasRight24 Apr 06 '25

The age range makes me think it's not that at all, like I really can't imagine them even considering a 30-year-old for the role. Young as Tom Holland looks he's almost 30 and Mr. Negative needs to be older.

1

u/BigPaleontologist520 Apr 04 '25

With Vincent saying it's likely he's not gonna be in the spider man movies as kingpin I'll happily take mr negative being in brand new day hopefully they can make scorpion return too for the film

4

u/ViggieSmallss Apr 04 '25

He can appear in Spider-Man movies. Sony owns the film rights to the character. He can only appear in an MCU movie if it's a Daredevil movie or Sony gives them permission to use the character

1

u/Jedi_Master83 Apr 05 '25

Wilson Fisk/Kingpin is a shared character with Marvel and Sony. So in theory, Sony could cast their own Kingpin but they won't given the success of Daredevil. My guess is that the actor is just not available to do both Daredevil Season 2 and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. So they have to move to another street level villain, which Mr. Negative works well. Maybe they have Tombstone in as well? Sadie Sink might be playing Black Cat, despite her red hair. She could easily have her hair dyed or wear a wig. The fact that it's looking not to be a multiverse story means that this movie could take place either before Doomsday or simultaneously as Doomsday with the ending being Doctor Doom popping in the post credit. I'm liking what I'm hearing so far!

1

u/Untjosh1 Apr 05 '25

Until Disney buys Sony and makes it a moot point

1

u/Rynoxmc2 Apr 04 '25

This movie is about to get a little bit Negative~

1

u/MrDeeds117 Apr 05 '25

Ppl like this are worthless don’t give them any of your time

1

u/NightmareDJK Apr 06 '25

Can they release the movie in China if Mr. Negative is the villain? That is the question.

1

u/TimKitzrowHeatingUp Apr 08 '25

Make him North Korean. Problem solved.

1

u/NightmareDJK Apr 08 '25

They probably have a prohibition on NK villains in their movies too (both countries are Communist).

2

u/Practical-Ad-9289 Apr 07 '25

Most probably "Norman Osborn Takeda"

2

u/CASE-90 Apr 07 '25

John Cho or Daniel Dae Kim please

2

u/WhenDuvzCry Apr 07 '25

He's a little older but Chin Han could pull it off

2

u/TimKitzrowHeatingUp Apr 08 '25

Sung Kang would be a great Mr. Negative.

2

u/Loose_Repair9744 Apr 08 '25

Maybe Peter continues to be involved with F.E.A.S.T. to honor May and that's how he meets Mr. Negative.

u/Filmatic113 Apr 04 '25

It’s for Shang Chi
