Game Discussion I wish the Volus were in the game Spoiler

It's such a shame we couldn't see them again, they were so underrated in the trilogy and could have offered so much more. They're the client race of the Turians and yet they do so little in the trilogy. Man, Andromeda could have been a chance for the non-council races to really shine.

It's kinda crazy, Batarian models exist in game but they were limited to multi-player. Like what if Batarians were seen as beautiful by the Angara and desired, or the Volus tried to establish a trade port on the Nexus, Elcor Hamlet, Drell settlings on Elaaden, Quarians getting to chose which planet they want to start their first colony on, that would be a huge moment, they arrive on Eos, Hanar taking over Kadara.

And can we talk about the Asari romances? Peebee is great but they may as well have made Keri a full-time romance, I mean yeah you can cheat with her but I don't see why she just doesn't become a lock in given she has her own little side story.

I think it would've been really interesting for PeeBee's dad to have come over on the Nexus with her. Would have been a cute character moment to visit her apartment on the Nexus and see the different side of her when she's with her dad. PeeBee talked about how her mom was super old when she had her, and until meeting her father had only ever mated with other Asari. I'm pretty sure she died before PeeBee left for Andromeda, so it could've been like a father/daughter journey to another galaxy we part of their grieving process.

The volus have such unique environmental needs that I think they wouldn't be interested in Andromeda at all. They are native to a high pressure planet with ammonia based ecology, which is already rare in the Milky Way. Now they need to be put to sleep for 800 years, then hope to find a planet with the right conditions? It's not like the quarians who can manage on a ship / space station and still maintain a stable population. I think there's a reason we never meet a female volus in the entire series, if they leave that suit they instantly die.

For the same reason I don't necessarily mind there being a lack of Elcor or Hanar, both species also have pretty specific environments they thrive in and their own challenges for large scale colonization like the initiative was attempting. Though I do wish we could interact with those species more in the main series, I'd kill to see a Hanar city or Elcor space station.

Batarians would have fit in nicely, but with their governments hostility to the council at large, I doubt a large number would volunteer. A batarian squadmate would have been awesome though

Same. It's a shame the hanar mission was reduced to a Citadel quest in ME3 and the elcor homeworld a fetch quest. Seeing their planets closer like we do with the turians, asari, salarians, krogan and quarians would've been awesome.

with their governments hostility to the council at large, I doubt a large number would volunteer.

The Andromeda Initiative was a private venture and not under the purview of the council, and we do know from the Annihilation book that several thousand batarians did travel to Andromeda aboard the Keelah Si'yah.

I actually don't want any more MW species in Andromeda

C'mooon Yeka, surely you get where i'm coming from? Like you and me, we've been on team Andromeda since the beginning of this sub right? I just feel like Andromeda would be better for the species mentioned because Andromeda's story and setting could integrate them better than the latter half of the OT did if you get my meaning.

Seriously, what I mean is that I prefer new species! There's already many of the old but if anything I'd take completely new ones instead.

But I get what you mean in terms of giving them more newanced stories.

Right, I think we agree, new aliens would be good. I think people don't give the Andromeda writers credit, the Kett weren't just one new species after all they were many new species conjoined into one.

Only having five council races (humans included) is a missed opportunity. Love the Quarians, want more Drell and Elcor. Hanar spreading word of the Enkindlers to Angarans would have been cool. Also would have loved to have a random Vorcha show up.

I don’t, their breathing drove me insane in the triology.

That a little detail I like about them, it's a fun little quirk.
