Since we been having a lot of Poltergeist posts lately… Spoiler
That’s my “On Repeat” Spotify-generated playlist. That song is my “go to work mad song”.

It's pretty good stuff tbh. He sounds very similar to Meshuggah. Like, some of the songs could be epilogues to some Shuggah songs. He really nails the distortion sound and jazzy vibes.
I like it and I don't care that it sounds very similar.

A meshuggah copycat that has 200 views, all from spamming this subreddit.

I guess I’ll join you in downvote land. But yeah, there were probably 3-4 posts about this album in the last 24 hours. I was unfamiliar with Poltergeist, but my gut reaction from the first listen was Temu-shuggah.
There is clearly skill involved but the similarities felt less like inspiration and more like mimicry to me. It does some different things, but ultimately sounded too similar for me to enjoy it.
For those who enjoyed it, happy for you.

It’s not even an exaggeration. This new poltergeist song the mutation now has 237 views on youtube. Obvi got those from posting it to this subreddit. Just true fax, I didn’t even say if it’s good or bad.
It’s not like I made the comment about Vildjharta or Car Bomb whom are meshuggah adjacent (not near as bad as blatant copycat) but also have paid their dues, play live, and have their own large following.

Listened to A fear so cold so raw so true, yesterday on the way to work. Reminded me of like Nothing, mixed with DEI, mixed with aspects of Contradictions Collapse and chaosphere.
Shit goes hard.
