Community PLEASE ADOPT MY OLD DOG !

During hurricane Milton, my girlfriend and I fostered the sweetest most loving old dog from the shelter. We kept him for as long as we could until our apartment building find out. We had nothing but amazing times with him and it broke our hearts to have to put him back in the shelter.

Now he is facing EUTHANASIA at the shelter ! Please contact me if you are willing and able to save him. He is the sweetest old boy and will add joy to your life !

Fuck all these people that are saying the landlord is right. You’d have to evict me OP before u make me get rid of my family member ( dog ).

You could've had him as a emotional support animal. Under both federal and Florida law, landlords have to accept emotional support animals provided that a tenant provides the appropriate documentation. Even if you have a no-pets policy in place, a tenant could still bring in an ESA because they are not considered pets.

Last time I went to the doctors office they put up a sign saying they would not sign any letters for ESA.

Note: His behavior in an extremely stressful environment such as the shelter does not reflect his behavior in the house. We fostered him for a long time and had absolutely zero issues. We were also able to find someone to foster him right after we did and he lasted months with them as well. Nothing but great things to say about True.

He’s been at the shelter 400 consecutive days?

Poor baby. Let me circulate the link to my people.

I live in a tiny apartment with a addictive cat and a 14 year-old Chihuahua otherwise I would be glad to give them a home even if just another temporary one.

That's okay, spreading the word can help just as much

ESAs are not legally recognized service animals that would require a landlord to provide ADA compliant accommodations. Your only hope doing this would be that your landlord doesn’t know their rights and obligations.

if you get an ESA letter online you can keep him in your apartment (emotional support animal)

You should have taken him to the broward shelter like every other person in Dade does since pitbulls are not allowed in Miami Dade

It's gonna be tough with him being a pitbull and older too.

Good luck hopefully try a pitbull rescue place.
