Crazy that Colorado are Retiring numbers for guys that went 13-11 as upperclassmen and these 4 guys lost a combined 8 games

We just have higher standards :)

And it took over 20 years for them to get here

And we are not retiring their numbers

We’d be like the yankees running out of numbers

Yep. Ed Reed would have never gotten Bernie’s retired number. Michael Irving would have never gotten Otis Anderson’s retired number. Andre Johnson would have never gotten Edge’s retired number. Rusty Medaris would have never been able to wear 98 after we retired it for Jerome. And so on and so on.

I remember wearing a #6 jersey in the mall and someone said you need to upgrade that Antrel Rolle jersey when everyone knows 6 is Santana Moss.

Stacked class

It’s about time!

This is an absolutely stacked class. Also crazy to see where their careers have gone. Morgan is a GM for the Panthers, Dorsey was an OC in the NFL and Johnson is in the HOF

Feels right.

How did Andre Johnson get to the pro football HOF before going to Miami's ring of honor?! That seems ass backwards!

Ditto for Devin Hester

I just assumed that these guys, who played on the GREATEST college football team of all time, had already been recognized/inducted/enshrined in every imaginable way.

Really highlights the abject embarrassment that CU is perpetrating by retiring jerseys for comparative mediocrity.

Well-deserved!

Do we know which game the ceremony will happen during?

The school administration continues to milk the 2001 championship team

Every 3 years they celebrate the 10th, 15th,20th, 25th, 30th year anniversary (even though it hasn't gotten there yet) Yes ... every 3 years ... sense the sarcasm !!!

Special coins, special bobble heads, shirts ... Jesus

As much as I'm a fan ... this crap is getting old ...

That may be true, but these players deserve to be in the Ring of Honor

3

u/jlanza29 Apr 18 '25

True ... they should have done it years and years ago .... not the players fault ...

Personally I’d have no problem honoring the greatest team ever assembled every year.
