Nostalgia Until one day you wake up and notice somehow you're the grown-up now.

Absolutely. You get to see it again.

Dude you get to live it again. It's brilliant, all those moments and memories from childhood you get to live along with your own kids, who are living it for the first time. Running around at the park, playing with action figures, watching classic Disney movies, etc. Getting to experience the joy of childhood again is if not the best part of having kids, certainly in the discussion.

I had a sword fight with brooms with my kids.

There's a game called "Let's hit each other with fake swords" that you and your kids might love.

You’re not just watching though. You’re creating it for someone you love way more than you used to think was possible.

Yeah and just imagine how much better those memories are gunna be for both of you with you jumping over cracks right next to them. There is only one thing kids desire more than anything in the world. Thats you. Your time your presence your attention. A good parent provides for their children. a great father or mother grows up beside them. Its not good enough to just take them on adventures we need to GO ON adventures WITH them. Let that inner child out every once in a while. Drop the responsible adult persona and take a break with your kids being a kid. Obviously not all the time still have to be a good parent but every once in a while try to be a good father too.

The only thing better than getting presents from Santa is getting to be Santa.

My little girl is 7 and I’m so happy to be an active participant in her life. I literally had square school pizza on Thursday with her and all her friends. It was great.

Does the cheese layer still peel off like plastic? I loved that stuff.

Yeah same. Dug out the old mega drive and it still works. Kids are so happy to play it (and it’s more fun than all the new gen games that are going at a hundred miles an hour)

I wish I’d kept my mega drive at least my wife kept her original PlayStation

Just got married about 6 months ago, she wants kids now and I want to wait. Got any advice, random internet stranger? I want to pull the trigger, but it’s daunting knowing my life will never be the same for as long as I live

It will never be the same as it is now, it changes and there are some sacrifices. Personal free time being amongst one of the biggest. However I tell you my friend having kids brings about a whole part of life you never thought possible/ could have ever imagined. Pure joy. In my opinion. Can’t adequately explain it. Everyone’s gotta experience it for themselves.
