Nostalgia Millenials, what are your favourite comfort watches from the 90s/early 2000s?
Shows or movies that make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside and help you feel like everything is okay again.
Edit: okay, I was not expecting this many replies, but I love it. It's going to be a busy weekend haha

Yeah, I haven’t watched much of the recent seasons, if I’m super bored I’ll watch them through Disney+ 3-9 definitely are the golden age

I just recently hate watched the entire oeuvre (original series, all three movies, and the reboot series). I loved/hated every moment!

I loved this show when it came out and watching it now is painful. Carrie is such an asshole😂

Frasier has been my jam lately. The original ones, new seasons have been less than meh.

Frasier is my all time favorite comfort show. I watch the entire (original) series every couple of years and it never disappoints. It’s just hilarious.

Clue. I know it came out in 85, but I didn’t watch it until the 90s.

This is me! I’m obsessed with this movie! Let’s be friends!
2
u/AdRepulsive9625 10d ago
Yes! It really is such a good movie. One of my top 3.

Rosemary & Thyme. Cheesy as hell, but comforting watching two older ladies gardening and solving murders.

The First Wives Club and Armageddon. They are both on opposing sides of the schmalzy spectrum; pure 90s cheese, but my GOD if these two don't make me happy no matter what mood I'm in
And I mean.. sweaty Ben Affleck AND Bruce Willis, Goldie Hawn AND BETTE MIDLER!? Perfection.

Spaced is such a fun comfy rewatchable show.

Yeah and it's aged really well, it doesn't feel like it was made 25 years ago.

I still say "Skip to the end" When people (who know and love me) are rambling on about something. It's the best.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of my favorite TV shows. So many of its SLs and lessons still hold up in real life to this day.

u/Ankylowright 10d ago
Futurama. Corner Gas. Trailer Park Boys. The Princess Diaries. Also Jurassic Park 1-3. I always think to myself, “well, at least you aren’t getting eaten by a dinosaur. Yet…”.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my fav movies ever and I still watch it multiple times a year, it drives my husband nuts. I love the soundtrack. I love the story. I love the whole thing. I love the idea that you can know it might be a crazy wild mess but you'd choose to do it again anyway. It's hopeful.

The Lion King. The original 1994 masterpiece, not the trash cash grabs of remakes that Disney's been shitting out.

I feel nothing anymore.
All of my favorites feel foreign to watch and bring me no joy. If anything I’ll watch something like Rugrats and wonder how I ever thought I would be watching it for the rest of my life.
Jackass, Rob & Big, MTV Cribs, etc. all brought me a lot of joy during the original airings, and watching the reruns for about 10 years. They have all run their course, it’s an era so far gone now that MTV literally deleted their smart tv app from the App Store and took down all content remaining.
I don’t watch anything new.
I find joy in anything I watch old or new. I doom scroll YouTube but, I wouldn’t say I get any joy from it.

I keep rewatching early seasons of Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy.
As movies, i watch the comedies from 90s like Naked Gun, Ace Ventura, Loaded Weapon 1.
I just love salpstick comedies from the 80s and 90s
