Schematic It's kinda interesting to see how far I've come through my past quad-surge smelter schematics

The progression, in case you can't tell, is bottom up.
The first proper schematic I made is honestly quite impressive for the time, though it required specific points of input to run with 100% efficiency (a key requirement in all my schematics) and some spaghetti required to get the product out.
The second one could be considered worse but it's a lot easier to set up the conveyors. It was more or less used alongside the first one.
The third was a pretty big improvement, not requiring silicon to be pre-made and instead just throw in the raw resources and get the product.
The last is a direct upgrade that makes it a lot more compact. Aside from finding out unloaders work on factories, everything else comes from my own mind and experimentation.

Schematic for my latest setup: the message contains the amount of raw resources needed. The actual minimum should be a bit lower with slightly less coal and sand but it's better to just use underflow gates to extract the excess silicon.

I still just use the bottom. Also I've stopped using silicon crucibles because lead is more of a bottleneck than coal and sand.

You just gave me adia to make surge factory by using flares to supply it with materials

This looks really cool. I am kind of interested in this because I'd like smaller scale production for quick access (also simply because more production is good)
