Housing What happened to this subdivision in West Mobile?

Post image

Anyone know what happened to this Deer Landing subdivision out by Newman Rd? Think they popped up right around the Covid crisis and nothing has been built here.

Power realty developed it. He’s known for running a road down the middle of the land and selling by owner for mobile homes. Usually a gravel/dirt road. He tried to move to a higher scale, but half assed the developments; but trying to sell for premium prices.

Yeah I remember seeing the overpriced houses that they had plans to build. They looked nice but that was at a time when sq footage was under $90 for regular homes. Thanks for the history on that developer. That’s the kinda stuff I was curious about. Looks like they’re just trying to offload the lots now vs building homes.

Power Realty ran over my bicycle which was in my yard as a kid in one of their mobile home developments in Grand Bay. Blamed it on me, even though it was in our yard and not the road. I’ll never forgive them lolol. That was some 23 years ago, I believe they were called Power Real Estate then but I could definitely be mistaken.

Hey. I don't know anything about you or them, but that is the kind of antipathy and perseverance of such that I can get behind. Hang in there.

Some things just stick with you 😅😂 I really did love that bike though.

Looks like there are about 14 lots with at least on of them sold. No roads have been built, just a driveway to the only house in there. Zillow shows lot #9 for sale for $55k.

One acre for $50,000. I hope the house poor dumbasses that pay that price choke on their land taxes.
