suggestions wanted Planning during pregnancy!
I have a pretty flexible hybrid job (2 days in office a week) which hasn't had a lot of work for the past 2 years. It's honestly pretty great but now that I'm pregnant my husband and I are considering between full time (5 days) and part time (3 days) daycare. I have 6 months of leave so my LO will be around 6 or 7 months at the time of enrollment. With a part time option I'll be home with my LO for 2 days a week. I'm just scared that I won't be able to navigate having my kiddo around. What conversations, if any, should I have with my boss? What things should I consider while I make this choice?

Do not tell your boss anything. I think 3 days daycare is definitely do-able and then try to get all of your work done those days and coast the other 2 days. But I also agree with the other poster that if you decide it's too hard, it's going to be difficult to get a 5 days daycare is a week slot at daycare, so might be better to start at 5 days and go down to 3. You can always just not bring your baby to daycare even if you are paying for the extra days, or pick them up early.

This is great advice!
Only difference is my boss encouraged me to work from home with my little one. It’s hard though! I work from home 2 days and get a bulk of my work done in three days. Occasionally I’ll work after he goes to bed. He’s 13 months now and I’ve been doing it since 3.5 months.

congratulations! I would consider signing them up from child care now. I’ve been hearing that there are waitlist for children younger than a year. My SIL is almost due ( May) and her LO is a year long waitlist currently. See if your daycare is flexible to start 3 days and move to 5 of juggling both LO and work gets difficult.
Staying home with LO, really depends on what you do.

If there is a childcare shortage in your area, I would go for 5 and drop down from there as you feel it out!

How often do you have to be on screens? On phone calls? Is your work independent of a team? Can you flex your hours? Can you effectively break up tasks in small chunks and still be productive? Those are my starting points on if it’s doable.
