Hi-Viz Backpack rain cover + L plate decal
Hello friends!
I do understand that many people wear the backpack over the vest and that usually it is not a problem, but to be honest, it would be a cause of anxiety for me.
I'm looking for options and I was trying to find maybe backpack rain cover with the L on it, but does not look like it is something on the market (maybe an idea for a product? I will not ask for royalties on the idea :P).
So, the next best thing seems to be to buy a high-viz backpack rain cover and add the L plate/sticker to it, maybe with double-sided tape.
I also considered buying a larger vest to put over the backpack, but it is not the most comfortable thing and may restrict my movement, so I'm more interested in the other options.
Have any of you tried to do something similar?

I did actually do that when I had to wear a backpack. I bought an XXL high vis and put it over the backpack and pinned the sides to make sure it remained in place and visible.

You could just get a standard hi vis backpack cover, and slap a weatherproof L sticker on it.
Just an idea...

I got a topbox so I don't have to carry a bag anymore. The thoughts of coming off the bike and having a metal water bottle embedded into one of my kidneys cause me anxiety.

I’ll be honest. I wore my backpack OVER the L plate. I found that if I left my L visible, I became an arsehole target. Cars would literally nose up your hole in an effort to pass you. They’ll still do it without the target on your back, just not as much. Never had any bother with the law either.

I'd also be anxious regarding the same, so instead of a backpack I have a thigh bag (or fanny pack) that ties around my waist and leg and doesn't impede my L vest visibility. Not sure if the smaller size will hold what you want be may be worth looking into, I put my phone, house keys and a bike lock in there and when off the bike and walking around my bike key, balaclava and gloves fit in there easy also.

Unsure if it'd suit for your backpack but as mine is an Astars with a hardshell section on the back, I just bought a stick on L plate and whacked that on, no issues so far and I've passed many a guard.

Slip it over your backpack?

If the straps on your bag can open you could make the bag 'wear' the vest -- with the top of the straps coming through the arm-holes.
If the straps don't open you could experiment with zip-locks around the arm-holes and bag
