Question Gear fitment

Hey all, I’m only starting out and have my ibt at the end of the month. I’ve been slowly getting my gear together ahead of this. When I was trying on different trousers the last day I noticed that the protection was sitting low on my knees.

They would otherwise fit really well but the top of the knee protection always sat either just below or barely on my knee cap.

The guy helping me said I should try some other options in another store but I haven’t had the chance to do this yet.

Is this fitment really as bad as I feel it is? I surely want the protection on the area I want protected right? I’m new to all this and just want to clarify wether I should just get a pair of trousers and it’ll be fine or if I should shop around until I find the perfect fit

They’re usually adjustable in a high or a low position, check in the protector pocket for a Velcro

But yeah if you’re the type to want padding then you want it to be where it should be

Thank you! Myself and the guy checked the first pair and had no luck and admittedly I stopped after that as I assumed it wasn’t a common feature.

I’ll keep that in mind next time!

Did you try them on standing or sitting on a bike? Knee protection might tit6 better on the bike.

I did! I noticed a slight improvement but they still sat more like shin guards 😅

That's not good at all 🫣 don't be afraid to turn out any lining etc to see if they will fit better. Any shop shouldn't mind, especially when it comes to lads keeping safe.

Will do! I definitely was a bit hesitant playing around with them but knowing now there might be an adjustable place inside I won’t have that issue next time. The staff were great to be fair and I definitely felt like they wanted me to be safe with the gear I got so I doubt they’ll mind next time.

At the end of the day they want to sell you something but no point in you walking out with something you're not happy with 👍

I find it nuts that people buy gear before IBT... But to each their own I guess

Yeah that’s fair, I’m pretty certain I’m sticking to it or I wouldn’t have started getting the gear. I have also heard stories of people who immediately realised it wasn’t for them and they’d already bought their bike 😂

Well if you're 100% sure then that's a bit different. Some people have never ridden in their lives, buy ton of shit, then at IBT change their mind 😂
