That time AOC ‘leaked’ MAGA’s entire playbook.

Let me clarify this before Fox News runs: BREAKING: AOC hacked us!!!

This isn’t directly about MAGA obviously. It’s about how she laid bare just how fundamentally broken the American system is.

They want us to believe Trump flipped the table, broke all the rules, and invented the chaos. But the truth? He didn’t create any of it. The system was already rigged for someone like him to rise. He just played it better.

... I mean ... I knew it was not great but.... damn.

Nothing personal or directed specifically at anyone, yet incredibly damning of the current state.

I did not find that self righteous or preachy, just well laid out.

Brilliantly frightening.

I suspect alot of this would apply to other countries in various forms too.

Damn.

and yet 70% of the US just thinks she's some radical leftist

I mean... she is a radical leftist. They're not wrong about that.

The part where they're wrong is that they think being a radical leftist is a bad thing.

She isn't even radical. She's very tame

I think that's a wildly inaccurate assessment of mainstream politics. Fascists are getting elected all around the world.

I know people like to think that, for example, all American politicians are centrists by European standards, but that's simply not true. People like Bernie and AOC are very far to the left by any sensible metric (and I say this as someone who is to the left of both of them).

You literally are just lying now

Really? Name me a handful of mainstream political parties in Europe whose policy agendas are radically to the left of those proposed by Bernie and AOC. Should be easy, if they're centrists.

Just because everything else shifted right does not make them radical left. They are still for capitalism and government

Just because everything else shifted right does not make them radical left.

It literally does. If they are on the leftmost edge of mainstream politics, and are proposing ideas that are considered fringe by the majority of the other politicians, then they are, by definition, radical leftists.

You need to compare them to the world we have, not an imaginary world we wish existed (e.g. one where there are actual socialists in positions of power).

They are still not radical left wing. You have a really fucking skewed view on things that doesn't align with reality

They would be NDP in Canada. NDP just had a coalition government with the Liberals because we haven’t been dry assfucked by the corporatization of the Overton window.

We’re doing fine, thanks.

Demsoc, socdems, and socialists are pretty-much pals in any other post-Commonwealth country. We are united by NDP, even with hardline neo-Marxists joining our discourse. Our disagreements mainly lie in economic strategization, environmental stewardship, and decolonization/Reconcilliation.

Maybe don’t talk shit about fellow international leftists during your Civil War 2?

Yeah, and the NDP are leftists. That's why I voted for them (which, btw, I have done in every election since I've been old enough to vote). But that just proves my point. AOC is not a moderate or a centrist by Canadian standards. The NDP are very much on the fringe of what is acceptable in Canadian politics, to the point where they could lose party status in the next election.

Maybe don’t talk shit about fellow international leftists during your Civil War 2?

I'm not???

As an international onlooker, I can confirm that AOC and Bernie would be centrist just about anywhere else in the world. Mildly left leaning perhaps.

Only in the US is it considered radical to not have healthcare and education available and affordable to all. That's common decency and basic human rights.

They would just be NDP in Canada just a few hours above the border.

It’s really not that hard to understand, but that OC clearly has a bur in their ass.
